Staff lovely, upgraded to a suite for 30 quid definitely worth it!! Would absolutely recommend staying here

Upgraded to the suite on the top floor, the room was fantastic. Room Service was quick. Staff is very friendly. Only criticism is the bar took a bit too long to make our drinks, and we were late for our dinner reservation.

Really cool hotel. Staff and management all super helpful and nice. Will definitely return.

My husband and I stayed here on the 25year anniversary deal last night for his 50th birthday. I booked a deluxe room. The room was lovely and very spacious with ensuite. It looked onto Leith water front. Lots of bars and restaurants close More

This is a nice hotel. The room was nice and clean and the bed was comfortable.

Went for a meal, did not stay. Food pretty basic, nothing wow. Prices are really expensive. Euan was great in the restaurant.

Five star stay for us. Food, drink, staff and ambience was spot on. Breakfast was a but shambolic but didn't warrant losing a star.

I love a Malmaison stay. This year we stayed in the Edinburgh Malmaison for my birthday, it was really nice.

Free parking, and an aesthetically pleasing location that feels so far removed from the city but it s really convenient to get back in.

We had drinks in the bar at two times throughout the day, and enjoyed breakfast in the morning.

Staff were friendly and approachable, room was clean and cosy.

Staff ace, nice dining room, menu for lunch decent. But the standard of cooking for the main courses for lunch was lacking: Sunday roast was chewy, and brisket resembles a sponge. Disappointing.

A lovely hotel with really friendly helpful staff. Can't praise them enough. The bar was nice and comfortable and the breakfasts were top notch. The only slight downside was the noise outside very early if you are in a room on the tower road side.

Fairly plush hotel, restaurant and bar. While it's nice food, and there's a good selection of drinks service is not great; waiting/ bar staff don't tend to go the extra mile.

We got good care of, cosy, neat and clean. Wonderful breakfast in room together with a fresh newspaper.

The Malmasion is a gorgeous boutique hotel in Edinburgh, located on the banks of the Forth in Leith. I visited the brasserie for brunch recently and it was amazing. It started with the soup of the day, self service from the chefs table, a lovely creamy spicy parsnip soup. Then we were invited to select something from the chefs table. There were loads of options such as omelettes, waffles, cold meats, salads, bread, pancakes, pates and terrines. From past experience I suggest booking your table earlier in the day, as the second time I visited for Brunch the options were limited due to it being busy early on. Also, pace yourself! There is so much lovely food on offer, don't over do it on the first two courses, because you won't have room for the rest!



If the weather suits, you can even enjoy some alfresco dining or drinking on the terrace. Also if you are lucky enough to be staying and the boutique hotel there is a hotel gym, Gymtonic to work off that heavy brunch!

Great hotel, staff where very polite and could not help us enough. The restaurant within the hotel itself was top notch and the bar area was a great place to hang out after a long day in Edinburgh. Would definitely go again / recommend.

Booked a stay at this hotel and really disappointed with my time here, the time allotted for booking in is clearly stated as 15:00hrs.
We arrived at 16:00hrs expecting to be allocated our room on arrival, we were informed by the reception that they are running late with the room being ready, and informed us that it will be ready in 10 minutes and gave us a complimentary drink as compensation for the room not being available one hour after check in time.
Unfortunately for us we then had to wait a further 45 minutes before our room was available, 1.75 hrs later than check in is totally unacceptable for any hotel to check guests in.
I will certainly not be coming back to this hotel again. and will probably not use the Malmaison chain of hotels again.

Had an amazing stay to celebrate my partners special birthday. Staff were brilliant and friendly and the service we received was second to none. Special requests that had been prebooked were carried out perfectly. Will definitely be back

I got there and found i had the bar to myself. but then at 5:30 on a sunny evening maybe not so surprising.

Room was clean and comfortable, however we ate in the bistro and were very disappointed . Breakfast was overpriced and very poor.

Well appointed room, comfortable bed, friendly and helpful staff.

Still a great experience - hadn't stayed there for years but it's just as good as when it opened.

Sometimes you want a good cocktail, and Malmaison doesn't disappoint i like these chains of hotels they breathe new life into old buildings, down here on the shore and also the huge Tay Hotel in Dundee, great service in style

Absolutely appalling now I ve been told they are fully booked for this evening even though we have paid for dinner bed & breakfast...... first visit to Edinburgh and honestly this hotel is rubbish probably better service at a cheep b&b this hotel has let my family down badly. Dissatisfied is an understatement

Beautiful Hotel Staying for 2 nights and it's very conveniently located close to buses to venture into the city and a 10 minute walk to Ocean Terminal shopping centre. The rooms are modern and stylish; and the bed is very comfortable. The staff are lovely and always greet you when they see you. Thank you for a wonderful stay. We will definitely be back in the future.

But it is delicious. EDINBURGH is a beautiful city.

Oh we had dinner there. And from the limited menu our tour group had, the food was tasty and presented very nice. Staff was warm and friendly, the atmosphere clean and nice. The location was good too. It was situated on the water and at night it was lit with lots of lights and you could enjoy a sit after dinner and look out on the lake.

Hotel staff have been great, no issues. Hotel is extremely warm though on all floors and in even in hotel bar. We've had the windows open and fan on all the time. Radiators seem to be off so don't know why it's so warm. Decor is okay, maybe could do both a touch up, there's painting needed done, the baths are a little yellow, there's holes in the corridor walls where the light fixtures are. Location is brilliant, some amazing bars and restaurants which is great. To be honest, I expected more for the price and reputation

Located on the waterfront next to an amazing seafood restraint. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Great location for those the want to enjoy leith anyway. Typical fashionable rooms in the maison style, maybe a little dark for my liking. Good staff, clean rooms and reasonable prices.

My wife and stayed whilst waiting for a tour . Unfortunately I broke my ankle on the first day and had to be repatriated home to Australia. We cannot thank the staff at Malmaison enough. They were brilliant . The hotel is in such a great location. Your staff are your biggest asset.

Excellent overnight stay. Room clean and comfy. Breakfast food very good, let down with weak coffee and tea. Would stay again.

We were served by Aviga tonight, she was brilliant. The starters we amazing, I would recommend the chicken salad or the tiger prawns. I had a burger for a main and it was good. It was my first time here, it is definitely a place I would recommend. Great location I think as well.

Good location. Clean and comfortable room. There is no visible sign to locate the hotel. Breakfast is standard, but the cost is high and the service is slow.

Although outside the City center, Malmaison is a reason to travel in its own right. Cool historical building, excellent service, high quality restaurants and bars near by, and only a short bus ride to Edinburgh Castle and all the touristy spots!

Good location but rooms are VERY WARM on a 17C day . Impossible to sleep due the lack of ventilation in the room . No aircon at all , no ventilation in the toilet.

There isn't one thing a could fault with this hotel. Myself and my partner came away for a weekend and it was one of my favourite hotels we have ever stayed at. I would highly recommend eating in the brasserie as the food is yum! Thank you for a lovely trip :D

Absolutely fantastic meal today as part of the champagne Sunday lunch, Pawel and his team delivered an absolutely 5 star service, one of the best we have experienced. Would highly recommend the champagne Sunday lunch voucher as a gift for everybody... And i'd definitely recommend the Malmaison in Leith, thank you again for a fantastic afternoon!
