Liberty USO is a non-profit organization that provides support and services to military personnel and their families in the Pennsylvania and Southern New Jersey area. The organization was founded in 1941, during World War II, with the aim of boosting morale among troops by providing them with recreational activities, entertainment, and other forms of support.
Today, Liberty USO continues to serve military personnel by offering a wide range of programs and services. These include airport lounges where service members can relax before or after flights; care packages for deployed troops; family events such as picnics and holiday parties; job fairs for veterans transitioning back into civilian life; counseling services for service members dealing with PTSD or other mental health issues; and much more.
One of the key ways that Liberty USO supports military personnel is through its airport lounges. These lounges are located at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL), Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst (MDL), Harrisburg International Airport (MDT), Lehigh Valley International Airport (ABE), Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport (AVP). They provide a comfortable place for service members to rest, eat, drink, watch TV or use Wi-Fi while waiting for their flights.
In addition to its airport lounges, Liberty USO also offers care packages to deployed troops. These packages contain items such as snacks, toiletries, books/magazines/DVDs/CDs/games/puzzles etc., which help boost morale among those serving overseas. The organization also hosts family events throughout the year including picnics during summer months where families can enjoy food & games together.
Another important program offered by Liberty USO is job fairs for veterans who are transitioning back into civilian life. These job fairs provide an opportunity for veterans to meet potential employers face-to-face & learn about different career opportunities available in various industries.
Liberty USO's counseling services are another valuable resource provided by this non-profit organization. Service members dealing with PTSD or other mental health issues can receive confidential counseling from licensed professionals who understand what they're going through & how best to help them cope with these challenges.
Overall, Liberty USO plays an important role in supporting our nation's military personnel & their families. Through its various programs & services it helps boost morale among those serving overseas while also providing valuable resources like job fairs & counseling services that help ease the transition back into civilian life once they return home from deployment."
