Lemel homes inc

After living in my Lemel Homes home for 5 years, I still get a little angry at the thought of how unethical and horrible they were. Some of the issues that came up early on were that they never removed their markup from my work and that of my own sub-contractors, meaning I paid over $10k for them to do nothing but provide a quote. Other issues include foundation cracks shortly after construction that they refused to fix, paint on stained trim due to trim being installed first, refusing to fix the paint on trim correctly and preforming the laziest "industry standard" repair. Roughly 1/3 of my rounded corners have cracks that weren't repaired. The main issue is that I was served a cease and desist letter for telling the truth online. They know exactly how to quell any negativity instead of fixing the problem. Lastly, it wasn't until roughly 3 years in that I started doing wall touchups due to having kids. After attempting to clean the dirt off the walls, I realized that the house(minus bathrooms) was painted with flat paint. I've never had an issue cleaning messy walls until now. What builder paints living area walls with flat paint. One more issue that makes me regret using Lemel Homes. With how fluently they get away with being unethical and shady, they clearly do this quite often. Oh, and by the way, to prevent their lawyers from circling overhead, this review is my opinion.

Lemel Homes in Milwaukee turned out to be one of the most dishonest builders I’ve ever worked with. After I left a review they claimed was defamatory, they actually threatened to sue me over it, yet they still haven’t provided any proof to back up their accusations. It feels like they’d rather crush customer service to protect their bottom line. They aren’t interested in improving; they’d rather silence critics with legal threats. If you’re considering hiring them, I have three pieces of advice to save you from the nightmare I experienced. First, seriously reconsider your decision to hire them. Second, ensure your contract explicitly states they cannot charge markup on work you or your subs perform. Third, demand a clause that removes their markup on any scope changes before you sign, especially since they raised the price to over $170 per square foot. Given that high price point, I expected a near-perfect build. Instead, I received a home that barely meets basic standards. I’ve already had to upgrade several items because they weren’t safe for my children, and I’ve had to fix other issues the builder dismissed as “industry standard.” At that price tag, my house simply isn’t worth what I paid Lemel Homes to build it.

It’s rare to find contractors who truly embrace the words “impossible” and “problem” in their vocabulary, but the team at Lemel Homes in Milwaukee made it look easy. Throughout our kitchen renovation, I threw a lot of unique requests their way—features that many other builders would have shyed away from. Instead of hitting a wall, they leaned into the challenges and delivered beyond what I imagined. With any construction job, surprises are inevitable, but the Lemel crew never let the unexpected derail the project. Their expertise and inventive thinking turned potential roadblocks into exciting opportunities. Living in the home during the remodel can be stressful, but I felt respected from day one. They were transparent about timelines, trade schedules, and what to expect, while the subcontractors were consistently polite and willing to go the extra mile. Privacy and safety were handled with care, which I really appreciated. Waking up to the finished space still feels surreal. The custom woodwork, granite surfaces, and distinct design touches are top-notch. But beyond the aesthetics, the after-care and support have been exceptional. That level of service is the real test of a company, and Lemel Homes definitely passed with flying colors.

We had Lemel Homes build our property in Milwaukee back in 2014, and the entire experience was excellent. Their post-build support was equally impressive; during the one-year warranty period, they promptly addressed any issues without any hassle. Thanks to their quality work, the house we bought from them is truly our home now.

We’ll definitely call Lemel Homes Inc for any future projects. Their Milwaukee crew truly delivered a top-notch experience, from the initial consultation right through to the final handover.

After losing our home to fire, we relied on Lemel Homes to rebuild in Milwaukee, WI, and couldn't be happier with the result. The team kept us informed throughout the process, staying right on schedule and sticking to our budget. Communication was seamless—they were always easy to reach and truly valued our input, making us feel like partners in the project rather than just clients.
