Learn to Earn: Empowering the Unemployed with Skills Training
In today's competitive job market, having the right skills and qualifications is essential for success. Unfortunately, many people in South Africa struggle to find employment due to a lack of education or training. That's where Learn to Earn comes in - a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering unemployed individuals with the skills they need to succeed.
Founded in 1989, Learn to Earn has been providing skills training courses for over 30 years. With three training centres located in Khayelitsha, Hermanus and Ground UP, the organization offers a range of courses designed to help individuals develop their skills and improve their chances of finding employment.
At Learn to Earn, we believe that everyone deserves an opportunity to learn and grow. That's why our courses are open to anyone who is unemployed or underemployed - regardless of their background or education level. Our goal is simple: To provide practical training that equips individuals with the knowledge and skills they need for success.
Our Courses
We offer a wide range of courses at Learn to Earn - from basic literacy and numeracy classes through advanced vocational training programs. Some of our most popular courses include:

All our courses are taught by experienced instructors who are passionate about helping others succeed. We use a combination of classroom instruction, hands-on practice and real-world experience so that students can apply what they've learned in practical situations.
Life Skills Training
In addition to vocational training programs, we also offer life skills classes designed to help students develop personal qualities such as self-confidence, communication skills and problem-solving abilities. These classes cover topics such as:

- Time Management
By combining vocational training with life skills development, we aim not only prepare students for employment but also equip them with tools necessary for long-term success.
Job Readiness Programs
At Learn To Earn we understand that finding work can be challenging even after completing your course successfully; therefore we have developed Job Readiness Programs which assist graduates from our various programmes on how best they can present themselves during interviews as well as how best they can search for jobs using different platforms available online/offline.
Our Impact
Over the past three decades since inception; thousands have graduated from our various programmes across all centres; some have gone on start their own businesses while others have found meaningful employment within different sectors including hospitality industry (hotels), construction industry (carpentry) among others.
We measure impact by tracking graduates' progress post-training through follow-up surveys conducted every six months after graduation up until two years post-training completion date.
