My name is Collin and last month Kent Power came to my block on in Grand Rapids, MI while they were doing work to replace gas service lines. On July 14th, around 4:20 pm or so I was standing outside on the sidewalk near my home talking with a neighbor and my wife. One Kent Power employee had piled many tools in the bucket of the crew's bobcat, intending on transporting them down the street to store in their truck at the end of the block. At the time my vehicle, a 2014 Chrysler 300, was parked on the north side of the street. The operator had to drive past my car and a nearby trailer (on the south side of the street) to reach the Kent Power truck. I noticed a long metal pole with a tapered end sticking out of the right side of the Bobcat s bucket. The tool was sticking out beyond the side of the bucket. As I watched, I saw that long tool hit my rear fender, jump/pop up and then come to a rest again in the bobcat s bucket. I went over to my car and observed a gouge and scratching on my driver s side rear bumper, a scratch along my rear taillight and a large white scratch/gouge and dent on my rear driver s side quarter panel, above my rear wheel. I went over and spoke to the foreman, who at first denied it happened, but then indicated he needed to contact his supervisor. The foreman shared contact information for his supervisor saying I should get at least 2 or more estimates for repair and email those to the supervisor. I spent a couple hours visiting body repair shops the next day, Thurs July 15th, and emailed those to the supervisor the following morning of Friday July 16th. The supervisor replied that those estimates were sent to the claims department and I would be contacted further. I received a voicemail from Kent Power's safety director in the late afternoon early evening of that same day asking me to contact him and my insurance agent.
The following Monday, July 19th, I received a call from one of Kent Power s safety staff members requesting to come see my vehicle and take some pictures. I met him at my door and showed him the vehicle and spoke about the incident. I returned the safety director's call on Monday, July 19th, again on Wednesday, July 21st, and again on Monday, July 26th with no reply. On Tuesday July 27th I called Kent Power s main office and spoke to the admin assistant who thought the safety director might have been on vacation the past week. I requested the safety director s contact information, which she emailed to me, and asked that the safety director reach out to me. I emailed the safety director later that week on Thursday July 29th asking him again to contact me via email or phone and received no reply. I called Kent Power s office again on 8-9-21 and spoke to the admin assistant, asking to speak to the safety director or his supervisor. I was told the safety director was not available and was forwarded to yet another voicemail for the operations supervisor. I called back and told the admin assistant I didn t want to leave another voicemail and requested that the safety director or his supervisor call me back today before the end of the business day. As I write this, I received no contact from anyone at Kent Power.
I had hoped that Kent Power would do the right thing and make right a mistake that was made. It appears no one is going to be doing that at this time and the behavior of staff at Kent Power seems to imply ignoring me and my concern will just make me go away. For a company that touts it s values of safety and reliability, in this instance Kent Power employees have not displayed those values when given the opportunity. I believe this was an honest mistake made by this employee, but what could have been a small issue easily solved, has instead become more than that due to the apathetic behavior and response of staff at Kent Power s office.
Overall, Kent Power is a company that adopts a dismissive and disrespectful attitude towards consumers and is lacking in the decency to communicate with those in the community they serve.

At Loves #359 Cartersville, GA everyone trying to get gas and your trucks create havoic at the auto pumps. Why couldn't they go to the truck pumps? This area is small anyways and they are oversize and some pulling trailers. Truck #4061 #5068 at 530 pm today.
