There's a waiting list for people to get in, that's where patricia is coming from and I think she was just impatient. Place is great, helped me get over my anxiety and depression loved it there
Gross ineptitude on part of reception staff. Was scheduled to have an over the phone session this morning with my psychiatrist for medication follow up, but just missed his call so I called right back. No one in reception picked up and staff directory was useless.
KYC is very helpful. I think Dr. Gibbons is the best psychiatrist I have seen ever. And my therpist is also good.
I love Kenneth Young Center, I am happy to see my therapist here.
Worked with two people and the first person was helpful but then referred me to a second one who only made things worse. I specifically requested help with networking/communication with employers in regards to seeking employment as someone with autism. It was clear that they did not understand/regard that disability as a difficulty.
Their services consisted of random google results for jobs and inconsistent advice, such as first telling me that I should list individual work as experience on resume and then another person telling me that the individual work was not "real employment." They also made suggestions of working retail or at an Amazon warehouse rather than jobs related to my college major/areas of expertise as a means to expedite my case completion and move on.
In addition, they never replied to any e-mail questions/inquiries I had, including providing them with a psychological exam I took to help them better understand my disability, while at the same time they would be upset about unprofessionalism if I didn't answer an e-mail immediately.
There are some very caring counselors who helped me a lot! I had 3 different counselors unfortunately, though, 1 left due to end of an internship and my 2nd favorite counselor had medical issues and frequently had to take time off and eventually no longer worked there. MISA group was awesome when counselor that left facilitated it. Good experience with medical records!
Worst place ever! No help to my disabled neighbor. The worst
I really like this place! My room mate was receiving therapy from a student && I go w/ diana. I mostly see female therapists here, which is good to see as a female. &&& yeah great service! The waiting list can be kind of long... but it's totally worth it!
Very unprofessional. A SASS worker should be working with parents to help guide them through a difficult process but yet are able to brush off a crisis because they re done for the day with no connection to an on call supervisor DURING WORK HOURS. SASS worker said that the student was accepted at the hospital we did not want to go to and refused to call the hospital we preferred because of the program they offer. Even though no parental consent was given to send the patient to the accepting hospital, due it being after hours we re forced to go otherwise DCFS will be called for medical neglect. Word for word this is what we were told by Adriana, I completed this assessment hours ago and I wasn t given any of this information so it s out of my hands because my work day is pretty much done . Then when I called KYC to get in touch with someone so that we can at least get someone to call our preferred hospital, the receptionist could not help and blatantly scoffed when I called him out for transferring me to voicemail which I requested not to do because of time sensitive material. I ve been working in the mental health field for 7 years and cannot believe an establishment that is supposed to support clients through some of the most difficult times in their lives can be inconsiderate and not see how their decisions severely impact what s best for their clients.
Called for 3 months straight and got no returned fone call...finally got an appt set for the 18th...let's see how it goes.
Very negligent and unprofessional staff. They cancel appointments very often, usually at the last minute, and leave you on your own to call back and reschedule. Rescheduling is a nightmare. They do not return calls- not even the directors. I would highly dissuade anyone from using these services. They know they are working with a population needing help, yet they have no compassion or sense of urgency. Experience has dictated the mental health careers generally attract people with a poor work ethic, and this place has perfected it.
