Largest inland shipbuilder in the US, according to the Belle tour narrator... (as of Aug 2017)
Only complaint is that they aren't nearly flexible enough with the point system for employees that are on their probation period
Truthfully, this place is a horrible place to work. Too many chiefs and not enough indians. Supervisors care little for the safety and wellbeing of their workers, your hours are not flexible at all, and the hourly employees run around scared everytime a supervisor steps onto a barge. Not to mention that your assigned PPE that you're required to wear does little to protect you from heat stroke, burns, and electric shock. Good point though, if you're a open gay man in area51, i recommend keeping a voice recorder on your body, as to record the constant antigay slurs you will receive daily for law suit purposes. I left because I couldn't take the constant insults about being gay any longer. If you choose to work there, just remember no one cares for your safety or wellbeing.
Jeffboat builds massive barges. Very proud of the fact that they are based here in our area!
I loved working for Jeffboat. It is truly a great company to work for. Im looking forward to starting back soon. I love the people and work environment there.
