Formerly Abandoned Cresson Pennsylvania Prison, once a Tuberculosis TB Sanatorium and the Flick Hospital; Now home to Big House Produce and Hydroponic Life, growing produce and hosting events!
Hydroponic Life: Growing Fresh Produce and Hosting Events in a Former Prison
Hydroponic Life is a unique company that has transformed an abandoned prison into a thriving hydroponic farm and event space. Located in Cresson, Pennsylvania, the former Tuberculosis TB Sanatorium and Flick Hospital has been given new life as Big House Produce and Hydroponic Life.
The founders of Hydroponic Life saw the potential in this historic building to create something truly special. With its high ceilings, large windows, and spacious rooms, it was the perfect place to grow fresh produce using hydroponics โ a method of growing plants without soil.
Hydroponics allows for year-round growing with minimal water usage and no need for pesticides or herbicides. This means that Hydroponic Life can provide their customers with fresh, healthy produce all year round.
But Hydroponic Life is more than just a farm โ it's also an event space. The company hosts weddings, corporate events, parties, and more in their unique setting. Guests can enjoy the beautiful architecture of the former prison while dining on delicious food made from locally sourced ingredients.
In addition to hosting events at their location in Cresson, Hydroponic Life also offers catering services for off-site events. Their team of experienced chefs can create custom menus tailored to any occasion.
One thing that sets Hydroponic Life apart from other farms is their commitment to sustainability. They use renewable energy sources such as solar panels to power their operations whenever possible. They also compost all organic waste generated by their farm and events.
Hydroponic Life's dedication to sustainability extends beyond just their own operations โ they also work with local schools to educate students about sustainable agriculture practices through hands-on learning experiences.
Overall, Hydroponic Life is a one-of-a-kind company that combines innovative farming techniques with historic architecture to create something truly special. Whether you're looking for fresh produce or a unique event space, Hydroponic Life has something to offer.
