There is always something to buy once you start looking. Lots of used DVDs for a couple of dollars and plenty of CDs and LPs. It is great to have such a place on the south side. When my company from France, Belgium and Finland come it is the first place they want to visit every year and always end u...
Neat little spot. My mother found her beloved prince records, so she was very satisfied. I plan on returning to see if some of my personal favorite albums are there.
The best local used cd and vinyl shop. I've found a lot of cds that I normally would pay extra for and have to wait for delivery. What ever you're looking for if not in stock they restock on Thursdays or you can order It. They take cash and credit.
This was the kind of place that made me want to linger. They have a selection that feels intentional, and that goes a long way to making any record store seem great. I could go back again and again just to see what's on sale. Easy to get to / easy to park, too!
This is a very quaint shop in not the best location in my opinion. I feel the workers are a little too particular on the items they want to buy. The album's that they had were quite nice though. Several modern albums such as Kendrick Lamar's Damn and Drake's Scorpion all at an affordable price.
Lots and lots of Records to go through. Multiple copies of albums at various prices based on condition. Huge dollar section. A lot of really good stuff here!
What a cool store. Great selection. Great people who work there. Well organized. I could have stayed for hours but I had a big stack of records and was maxed out.I will come back.
If spending top $$$$ for garbage records that are completely unlistenable is your thing, then this spot is for you! Many better record shops in the city who actually have integrity in their product and respect for their customers. Stopped in about 20 minutes before they closed and picked up a coup...
I was surprised at some of the vinyl gems I found at this store. A predominant focus on jazz, soul, gospel, and hip-hop. Other genres are represented as well - especially soundtracks and novelty records.
I used to patronize them, but never again. Earlier today their door was opened. But before I could walk in, I was told, "We're closed" ! Then he came from around the counter & locked the door. I will continue to patronize Amazon
Ok to visit but dont expect much when trading in used vintage vinyls for cash. They take what you have but give you pennies for your trouble and charge a bundle for used vinyls.
Impressive selection, especially when you're a funk/soul/disco fan like me. Prices are very reasonable in my opinion. If I lived in Chicago that would be my go to record shop for sure.
Skip i-Tunes, or Amazon, if live near by, stop in and visit this place to find some great music you may have forgotten about. I always leave with a couple of CD and end up thinking about buying an old school record player.
For those who enjoy vinyl, Hyde Park records has a good selection to browse through. It was my first time there. I had a few items on my wish list. Even though I didn't find any of those items I will come back. No telling what I may find on my next visit. I enjoy finding items that I wasn't lookin...
I had a worst experience there cause the guy just look at records to sell and just dismissed them with out even looking at them at all. I just got a very cold shoulder and won't be back.
the logical and fair answer to dusty groove: the upper crust of record collecting but without the pretense (maybe just a hint of it). excellent jazz section and similar stylistic content youll find at DG but with MANY 99 cent commons to sort through as you waste away an afternoon on your knees. a ...
My two sons and I have been coming here since moving to the Hyde Park/Bronzeville neighborhood in 2012, we love it! It's just full of wonder. You can literally lose yourself in this eclectic jewel. And when I thought it couldn't get any better, they started selling used books. This place just gives ...
