I've had second chance to stay at Hotel Chino with my family. I was overwhelmed with kind approach and some great hospitality shown by Maria & Paul . Our rooms were neat & tidy, and they were so big that my kids really loved play inside the room. Honestly, my daughter just couldn't stop praising the hotel. Food served was excellent. I would love to come back again to Chino with my family...maybe with my friends too. I would give a 10/10 to the management & staff.
I'll start off with; great value for money in the CBD area! Front counter staff were friendly including the chef (presumably the chef) who sparked up a convo whrn I arrived. I like that!
When placing room service orders they were far less than friendly. Very abrupt but food was always fantastic! Sounded like one of the chefs taking orders. Chefs are not service friendly they are high paced individuals under a lot of pressure and shouldn't be taking orders.
Room cleanliness was less than satisfactory. Plenty dust (probably fill a vacuum canister/ bag), hair including suspicious curly types, gettimg tangles on my socks and throughout the suite bit worst of all was the shower bath. Mould growing on the silicon in the corners (just a scrub would get rid of the majority of mould and grime). I scrubbed the bath with the dish scrubber it was that bad. Took some serious elbow grease and 2 tubes of soap to remove the black caked on grime. Last thing one likes to do late at night after a hard days work interstate.
Toilet wasn't clean ( at least the seat was).
Half used soaps in the bathroom drawers which was odd but hamdy for cleaning.
Apart from that all was good. Improve cleanliness and put friendly staff in charge of food orders and it'd be a 5 out 5 for me!!!
I was very pleased with my stay. Friendly staff, great spot, clean room with everything needed.
Great coffee from the restaurant. Vegan options would be nice and the wifi was a bit slow. But other than that I was pleased.
Lots of free parking and nice facilities.
Small, intimate dining. Great food. Interesting experience recently: no menus and the chef comes out and asks what you want to eat. The food is great only draw back is you don't know the price at the time. (It could well be fixed, I didn't ask)
Average in most aspects. Parking is easy, close to food places and supermarkets. Rooms smell very strongly of cleaning products which always make my belongings smell by the time I return home. Apartments are nice and spacious. Fine for business trips, not for a weekend away.
Edit: in response to the reply. I've stayed here before and during the pandemic - same thing. On that note, I've seen the air-conditioning checks aren't always up to date. So maybe your pandemic response needs some work?
Third time staying here, always friendly and professional service, rooms are neat, modern and clean.
Unfriendly check in. As if I, the customer was an embuggerance. Pool closes at 9pm. And no access to spa or hot tub either. The only reason I booked. No bedside lights either.
CLOSE TO CONVENIENCES. GOOD ROOMS / APARTMENTS.RESTAURANT ON SITE.
I have stayed in many hotels and motels in Brisbane and all over Queensland. I know what I'm getting at Hotel Chino,
- clean
- well equipped
- open plan
- friendly service
- good pool and gym
- good food
- good price
- open plan with plenty of space to work, I always get the one bedroom apartment.
- best location to get to anywhere in the city or surrounds quickly. I should know I'm a Surveyor.
I don't want to many people to stay here, I stay here every week and I want to keep it that way.
Chino deserves a good review because its good. Very good
Awesome clean room, very friendly staff, will definitely be coming back
Could be a motel versus a hotel. Common areas smell, for a 6 day booking only service was a single towel change half way through the week, pillow linen was not available when checking in, and had to put on the bed myself when it did arrive. May be fine for one night particularly with location for sport, but for longer stays wouldn't recommend.
When faced with the task of selecting a venue for our son's christening lunch we had a few requirements in mind. We needed room for around 35 people and space for a gift table and cake table. We were also searching for an intimate space where we could interact with our guests in private. We were thrilled that Chinos could accommodate our every wish and more!
Paul, Maria, Alex and their staff could not do enough for us in making our son's special day perfect. Nothing was too much trouble and their willingness to go above and beyond was truly appreciated.
Alex the Chef produced the highest quality, tastiest lunch for our guests and they were singing his praises all afternoon.
We can't recommend Chinos highly enough. If you're looking for a private dining space for your special occasion you'd be mad to go anywhere else.
Thank you so much Paul, Maria, Alex and the team.
As usual. You walk in the front door and you feel like you at home. The reception staff , Chief in the restaurant all make you feel at home . Rooms are lovely and clean and very spacious
Always enjoy our visit.
The unit smelt like wet animals the decor was cheap and very out dated parking was mission staff were slow
presented at 2 pm, reservation was not recognized on their systems the management continued to blame the booking provider, it was pretty akward trying to sort it out with management. $100 levied against my credit card which does not seem to be the standard anywhere else I have stayed. Room was well presented. 4.5 stars is laughable.
Came in 9/1/17 - left 11/1/17 Great rooms, V.Handy to "Greenslopes Hospital"
Staff were great, close to stones corner( but would not recommend "stones corner" for a decent meal" ( restaurant at hotel was closed at the time of our stay) There was a problem with the fridge BUT this was Quickly fixed asap a new fridge was required & this was done & completed the very next morning, Showers are great, Patio is a real bonus. Safe under ground parking fantastic. Would we stay here again
YOU BET. Cannot Rate This Hotel Highly Enough, Is Far Superior to anything within "Cooee" distance to Greenslopes
Was ok I guess , as i only visited here briefly. I wouldn t rush back to book!
Good value, good location. Clean and comfortable, all you need.
Helpful staff, neat and tidy rooms..... pity the mattresses were like concrete slabs
Great service, excellent food. Will continue to come here!!!
Uncomfortable beds in the two different rooms I've stayed in over the past 12 months. Room service was prompt however lacked any real differentiation or wow factor. Check in was difficult and took approximately 15mins the first time I arrived.
No hand sanitizer or hand wash. We asked for the room to be made up as my husband was been discharged from hospital & it wasn t done. We won t be going back.
Was nice, the bathroom was the only problem, shower was to small for two.
Been a great stay so far...room is clean and comfortable. A surprise upgrade was much appreciated. Going to enjoy the rest of our stay here. Central to everywhere even walking into Brisbane only takes 30 mins
Staff were friendly, food was good and rooms are neat and tidy .. nothing to rage about, but it's a workers temporary accommodation, so I don't expect gold plated taps and geisha girls ... but the bloomin' floor above mine had a guest who left their TV on ALL bloody night!
I called night staff and they said they'd let the manager know but obvi-bloomin-ously the manager didn't manage to fix the problem ... (manager should manage; difficult not?).
Consequently had no sleep that night, but managed to write a hit song and avoid head on collisions on the drive home tha following day.
Please management .. fix the invasive sound leakage problem!
Go there. Super great for when you have family at Greenslopes Private.
Great location and usually excellent but this time we had a lot of mosquitoes and the bathroom fan didn't work. Otherwise always a great stay.
Room stunk SOOO strongly of smoke. It was disgusting and really turned my family off the whole experience. The best thing there was the spa and pool, which was lovely.
Excellent little Hotel, staff are super friendly and nothing is too much hassle. The chef owns the kitchen and menu, you won't go hungry
Very polite and helpful staff and the room was more then adequate for the nights stay
Nice and clean, perfect for a quick one night stay to see Adele - walking distance from the arena. Good service and food in the downstairs restaurant/bar.
Great hotel and reception staff. Food was delicious and the chef was very friendly (menu not required :) ) the room even had a microwave in too. Would definitely recommend this hotel
New and clean and comfy
Foods great too..
Chef is great. Service in restaurant is good. Food and prices good. Have been a regular on a weekly basis previously.
I ve booked this hotel after I red all the positive reviews on google but I got so disappointed as soon as I entered the building. The room was very dated. Outdated Tv. Bathroom and toilet smelled awfull so we have to keep the loud fan on all day long to get rid of the smell. Hair dryer was working only for 1 minute. Bed sheets looked clean but the duvet was ripped and had stain on it. Could hear the neighbors.
Dark corridors and dirty carpark.
Such awful experience.
My friend stayed here. I dropped her at the Hotel. The room looked very modern and clean and proximity to train station was very close.
This hotel is fantastic, its immaculate and every one of the staff are lovely and extremely helpful. Couldn't recommend this place more.
Serviceable rooms. Nice staff. Slightly uncomfortable beds.
Was not greated friendly by reception, the cafe staff were rude and made me feel like I was annoying them by asking them for a coffee. it was 9:30/10am and they were not busy at all.
Clean and tidy hotel. Friendly staff and price reasonable. NEAR to Buranda Village (supermarket) and 400 meter to Buranda Station. For Muslim near halal restoran Dapur Dahlia
Great rooms when visiting the city for hospital access and an easy commute to the heart of the city. Friendly staff and delicious, executive chef made meals served at the restaurant on site. Rooms were clean, spacious and quiet. Lovely spot.
Recommend this hotel. Clean, great atmosphere. Close to everything without huge expense. Secure parking and nice little cafe.
I had visited this motel while visiting family here. Its close to the major Alexandria hospital if you have family members staying there close to the city.Affordable priced for being close to hospital and shopping centre near by.also has pool for those hot days to relax!!!
Very comfortable and friendly service. Downstairs restaurant served good food and the chef provided us excellent service close to closing time. Would definitely stay at Hotel Chino again, well done !!!
Clean, comfortable rooms. Friendly, helpful staff. Delicious restaurant.
Very clean, staff were friendly and the room was to a high standard with a microwave. There's an outside bslcony and area to eat
They have a friendly staff. Nice and clean rooms. Kind housekeeping.
Nice big room, friendly staff. Comfortable beds and nice shower. Would stay again.
Hotel Chino is before good place for a coffee in morning and also a lunch because when coming here was a Chef who care and proud to cook the luncheon meal with a passion. Also it is good for if you want a keep the local accommodation when visit for Brisbane business on southside instead of travel all the time from City and cross the river, and stay in traffic. Instead you can sleep extra time and save the taxi driver time and fee for nothing.
Cleaners entered our rooms 2 days in a row, with items of small value noe missing not very trustworthy hotel
My key card decided to stop working after hours, after the intercom cut out 3 times and I had to explain to 3 different operators (none of which had a clue about the hotel) I then had to wait total 1 hour just to get into my room. Which I was then stranded in as the security guard couldn't get me a new key I had to wait until morning for a new one. Also the aircon barely worked in the room which was stifling. Awful
Access was confusing at night as the key card didn't work on the front door. You have a use the side door. Very friendly and helpful staff
Good accommodation, wonderful manager but let down by facilities
STAFF HERE HAVE DISGUISTING CUSTOMER SERVICE! If I were the owners I would be embarrassed and angry that this hotel provides DIRTY ROOMS, BROKEN FACILITIES AND INDIFFERENT ATTITUDES FROM STAFF...I stayed here twice, the 2nd time giving them the benefit of the doubt. Which I wish I never did...all I can say is read their reviews on multiple sites and trust that people aren't over exaggerating their experiences at this hotel, I am not the only one to mention cleanliness and broken facilities....lets just hope star ratings reviews them so that in the future if you're looking for a 4 star hotel they shouldn't show...at best they would be 3 star and the only reason for that is the semi modern rooms. I will definitely not be recommending this hotel, and would also suggest that the staff of this place stop giving themselves 5 star reviews on social media and websites as that alone in unethical...goes to show how desperate they are! Spend the extra money on a better hotel...there a many in the same area!
Best hotel in brisbane. Never see any faster in check in and out like this in my life. Good staff and friendly. Will be my first choice hotel in Brisbane all the time.
There is no daily housekeeping carried out, clean towel replaced once a week, no cooking facilities, there is no shower pressure the restaurant quality is 1 out of 10 and the cook is annoying there is no breakfast facilities on weekend , and that why I gave you one star I will never come back
They have looked after us for almost a month now their rooms are in excellent pristine condition
great, enormous appartment, excellence underground secure parking and great service
Just spent 10 days at Hotel Chino over the G20 with my workmates & loved the place. Room 411 was excellent - 1 Bedroom apartment. Very clean and extremely comfortable - bed made every morning - what more can you ask for! Everything in the apartment you want/need. Large fridge, 2 x TV's, lounges, dining table, safe, ironing board, washing machine & dryer etc etc. Air-conditioning was awesome & once you shut the veranda glass doors, you could not hear any road noise. All the girls(staff) are very helpful, very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Dined in the Restaurant and the food was great -the buffet breakfast every morning really good and filling - as much as you want (need tomato sauce though lol :-) ) Secured underground parking was perfect for our 58 motorcycles! Huge spa and pool was great over the 40 degree heat weekend - got plenty of use!
Have no hesitation in recommending Chino to everyone!
Thank you so much for an excellent stay - loved every minute of it!
Mostly fine except for being given only key card, had I been given 2 as I normally get given elsewhere, I would have avoided $78 call out fee
Excellent service at the restaurant + neat and tidy room + very friendly staff
My partner had some appointments at PA hospital last month, we came down from Gympie and needed to stay a couple of nights. Coming from the North was easy, with the Clem 7 bypass allowing us to get to the South virtually traffic free. PA is a very short walk from Hotel Chino. At the end, back on the Clem 7 (exit is only a couple of hundred meters down the road), onto the Airport Link to the domestic (I had to fly out to work). On top of this, we did a quick visit to Southbank - public transport from Buranda Bus Station (again only a short walk) makes getting around an cinch! So in term of convenience, you can't do any better.
The room we had was very clean and extremely comfortable to stay in. As a person that needs to stay in motels lots for work, I believe I'm a decent judge of what standard we should expect. They ticked all my boxes.
We had dinner one night in the restaurant, and the chef came to us and basically asked what we would like (not what the menu dictated). He came out with absolutely delicious food - gave me some ideas when I cook next. We went to bed very satiated!
A 5 star experience that also won't break the bank. Highly recommend Hotel Chino, especially if you need to be in the area for the local hospital(s).
Room was nothing special, but neat and tidy. Reception pleasant and helpful.
