I am not crazy for Hilliard's beer. Their brewery does have a ton of space, indoors and outdoors, a food truck usually on site, a few outdoor lawn games, and an amazing coffee bar. I actually think their coffee bar is the highlight of a trip to Hilliards. It's pricy but you get to keep their super cool mugs with every purchase.
I used to have a big problem with Hillard's beer. It just wasn't that good. their standard beers are pretty one dimensional. Very simple flavors, no malt flavor even for styles that should, and and a hop flavor that's too prominent, even for beers that shouldn't have a prominent hop flavor.
BUT! Try their oak aged stuff. It's really good. There's a really good whiskey barrel aged sour, and some other that I can't remember because I drank too many of them. (That's where the fourth star comes from. Probably the third star as well.) They also have regular food trucks and a lot of outdoor seating that gets pretty busy on nice evenings and weekends.
Pretty good beer. Tried the pale ale and brown ale. Both were good but fell a little short compared to other craft brews. Nice atmosphere.
Large and open space, great beers and has pool and giant Jenga to play. Great way to spend an evening without feeling crowded.
Open later than other breweries in area. Fantastic saisons. Great events there too.
It's a rad place to have a beer in a big open warehouse style brewery. Don't lose your cool when the 6ft jenga tower drops! Food truck delivers some awesome grub.
Nice indoor and outdoor space. There's one bathroom inside and portable toilets outside.
Space can be booked out for events. Popular on weekends.
Beer is very tasty and have a great atmosphere. There are food drinks that come but only during lunch time. One of my favorite spots in Ballard.
Great casual vibe with amazing beer. One of the best spots in Ballard to sit and relax with friends and a pint.
Great beer and friendly staff. The space has a hip, open warehouse vibe. It's a great place to get a drink and meet a friend.
