Hickory high school

My daughter is a senior a Hickory High and has been a student there since freshman year. She has made lifelong friends and developed terrific relationships with her teachers! Can't wait for my son to start Hickory High in the fall!

My child learned more at this school than any other's. The teacher's really work with the student's and the parent's to get the student where he/she needs to be on their level. We will miss the school, the teacher's, the staff who are also very helpful and friendly, as well as, security. This is a great school for any high school child. I highly recommend it...

Two children currently at the school--one senior, one sophomore. The new principal is a breath of fresh air. Prior principal was too restrictive on the teaching side and too lenient on the student side. She was more concerned about her numbers looking good and being a friend to the students. In the end, she did a disservice to them and most parents, teachers, and students had no respect for her. New principal may have seemed overly tough when she first arrived four months ago, but students and teachers alike are enjoying the consistency of her leadership and educational values. A high percentage of the teachers at Hickory are very good at what they do and encourage students and truly care if they succeed. The Parent, Teacher, Student Assn is active and strong. Students who attend are predominantly from the middle to upper-class and the school is slim on diversity, but that is due to the surrounding housing demographics.
