Located in Plano, Texas, the museum is housed in a historic farmstead built in 1891 that includes the original Victorian home, barns and outbuildings. Through interactive tours, programs, exhibits and events visitors will experience life on the Blackland Prairie from 1891-1939.

The Heritage Farmstead Museum is dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of farming and ranching in North Texas. The museum's collection includes artifacts such as antique farm equipment, tools, clothing and household items that were used by early settlers on the Blackland Prairie. Visitors can also see live animals such as chickens, goats and sheep that are raised on site.

One of the highlights of visiting Heritage Farmstead Museum is taking a guided tour of the historic home. The Victorian-style house was built by Ammie Wilson who was one of Plano's earliest settlers. The house has been restored to its original condition with period furnishings which gives visitors an authentic glimpse into what life was like for early settlers on the Blackland Prairie.
