The COVID-19 pandemic has brought unprecedented challenges for seniors, who are at a higher risk of contracting the virus and facing social isolation due to lockdowns and restrictions. H.E.L.P., which stands for Health Equipment Loan Program, is a non-profit organization that has been serving the community since 1972. The organization's mission is to enhance the quality of life for seniors by providing them with access to health equipment, home support services, education programs, and social activities.

Although our H.E.L.P. office door is locked to walk-in consultations and our community classes have transitioned to zoom video conferencing, we continue to operate with a reduced in-office staff and others working from home, taking phone calls from seniors who need assistance during this challenging time.

Our team of dedicated professionals understands the unique needs of seniors during this pandemic. We offer a range of services that can help them stay safe, healthy, and connected while staying at home.

Health Equipment Loan Program

One of our core services is providing health equipment loans free-of-charge for up to three months or longer if needed. We have an extensive inventory of medical equipment such as wheelchairs, walkers, hospital beds, commodes shower chairs etc., which can be delivered directly at your doorstep or picked up from our office location.

Home Support Services

We also offer Home Support Services such as meal delivery service (hot meals), grocery shopping assistance (with curbside pickup), medication reminders etc., which can help seniors maintain their independence while staying safe at home.

Education Programs

We understand that many seniors may feel isolated or anxious during this pandemic due to lack of information about how they can protect themselves from COVID-19 or how they can stay active while staying indoors. That's why we offer virtual education programs on various topics like fall prevention tips; mental health awareness; nutrition advice; exercise routines etc., through Zoom video conferencing platform so that they can learn new skills & knowledge without leaving their homes.

Social Activities

Staying socially connected is crucial for maintaining good mental health among older adults especially when physical distancing measures are in place due Covid-19 pandemic .
