They are great, but need more chairs for the parking lot. A system for parties to be seated. It needn't be on a group of people trying to decide who goes next and hovering over eating tables. Your place is way too great for that That's why it's crowded.
An absolute delight. They have a really lovey outdoor seating area with heaters for those cold days. The food was good and the beer was as well. I also loved the bakery. Dogs are allowed in the outdoor seating area. Overall, a great dining experience and one I can t wait to repeat again and again.
Food was very good, service was quick. Those are the main highlights.
There was definitely some expectation management work to do here - I was expecting a good beer menu walking into a place advertised as a bierhaus, but there were several different menus and even the dinner beer menu we tried to order off was not applicable when we tried to order at dinner. Beer menu that was applicable was small, but beers were good. Sausage platter was good, but not much sausage for $19 (2 normal-sized links) and not what I expected ordering. Everything was good, but expectation management would go a long way.
If I had to recommend 2 things, it would be 1- consolidate the alcohol menu to be more consistent, so people know what they can order before hitting the counter. 2- add some pictures to the menu so people have an idea of what to look for in a dish.
I would come back here.
We had a delicious lunch in their huge outdoor dining area. Friendly staff, really interesting design and decor (think 1960s San Francisco Haight Ashbury or Asheville). Usually super busy, so plan ahead for a little bit of a line to order. 100% worth the wait though. You may have to park a good distance from the restaurant if it's really busy.
Hey Guglhupf Management! Do you read these reviews? I m looking forward to a comment from you about the policy of asking about tips. You should be aware of the negative impression this makes either by observing it directly in the restaurant/bakery or by reading the reviews. I await your response. Thank you.
Great pastries in a very soothing atmosphere. It was a bit of a drive because I live in Wake Forest, but it was well worth the trip. It was very crowded which is a testimony as to how good it is. Covid19 safety measures were adhered to.
Enjoyed our time at the cafe and the bakery.. very unique
Tried NC soft shell crab for the first time in a sandwich and enjoyed it
Also tried the matcha latte which was okay
Also got some Almond Schneckl, coconut macaron and musli roll from the bakery to try later..
Their outdoor dining is really great, lots of room. I ordered a house salad with grilled chicken. It was delicious. It included in season roasted and raw vegetables. I usually just go to the bakery, which everything is delicious there too, but today was different.
The pastries and breads are phenomenal! So flaky and sweet. You can definitely taste that everything is homemade!
I first sent this message to the cafe privately but they ignored it, so I'm posting this review. We were in the bakery shop last week and purchased 3 cakes. The store employee forgot to put one of the cakes in our bag. He also asked for a tip and was more focused on the amount that we'd give rather than on doing his job.
Maybe the restaurant should focus on customer service and paying their employees adequately. You need to offer to reimburse your customers rather than ignore them.
