Delicious food, beautiful ambience, excellent service. Pricey but very very good!
After peeking into The Greenfield Restaurant & Bar by boyfriend and I were intrigued by the interior/ambiance and decided to make a reservation.
Upon arrival, we were seated but not greeted or communicated with while one of the servers filled our water glasses. We waited 10-15 minutes before our waitress finally arrived to welcome us to the restaurant. About 5 minutes later we were finally given 1 roll each, which we scarfed down quickly, then proceeded to sit and wait for our drinks to arrive.
When the drinks finally arrived we quickly placed our order in fear that the food would take as long to come out as the rest of the service had taken. The cocktail my boyfriend ordered (Manhattan) arrived extremely watered down and was not cold.
We were not served or asked if we wanted any additional rolls for the duration of the meal.
The food arrived luke-warm. The portions were extremely small for what you are being asked to pay. The vegetables were cold. The mashed potato side tasted and appeared as though it had been made hours prior and sat under a heat lamp until ready to serve. DISGUSTING!
Again, for what you are being asked to pay, I am extremely dissatisfied and will never return. Very disappointing given the beautiful ambiance.
Amazing food and love the home made flavors Delicious
I had the wild boar over creamy mushroom and crispy asparagus....A M A Z I N G!! great food , great service. will return to eat there again.
The restaurant is family owned and they definitely pay attention to detail this food was delicious everything was perfect I suggest you go definitely worth the trip from anywhere we came from New York state in Lancaster and went to dinner here. Loved it. I was very impressed when the owner came over to our table and asked how everything was definitely a nice touch love family-owned restaurants
Great food, service, little fancypants for me, though
Delicious, lovely outdoor seating, wonderful staff, and decent prices for the food + atmosphere. Not your everyday go-to lunch place, but good for treating yourself. I had the quiche of the day. It was a huge serving with tons of fresh fruit.
I attended a birthday party there so I did not eat off the menu. But the food we had was very good and very nicely presented. Service was also friendly and prompt
One of the nicest, professional places to eat!!
Great menu and reasonable prices. Been in business for many years for a reason!!
Neat pub close to Times Square. Food was pretty good. Wife loved the stew. Service was surprisingly very good. Wasn't expecting that in a tourist area.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. The food, service and ambiance is terrific!
Food was excellent. Service was good but the lady at the front desk was rude and crochety.
Had a business lunch here yesterday and it was as good as ever. One of the best atmospheres in the area and the best place in the Greenfield Corporate Park to sit down, talk business and wow a potential customer. I would recommend this place for that special night with your partner or a simple lunch. (amazing wine cellar & great upscale food!!!)
Pleasant ambience. Excellent food (we had scallops, salmon, brussel sprouts side, chicken liver pate) all was great, including service. Great wine list. Had their red wine blend by the glass - highly recommend it.
The food is always amazing. Love the jazz on Wednesday nights! Service is always impeccable!
Lovely setting, good food, but for whatever reason the service was very slow and inatentive!
A staple in Lancaster County. A great place for "ladies who lunch." Nothing super special but always a good meal historic building sets it apart.
Food was amazing! Lump crab appetizer wonderful. Grilled salmon special was phenomenal! Even the salad dressing was impressive. Why a three star? The service is the concern. First at the bar, where we initially intended to dine but soon vacated this thought as the woman working the bar who, while clearly making a high quality dirty martini, clearly would benefit from fine dining service orientation and convinced us she had no interest in us dining with her. So we sought out the hostess who quickly found us a nice table. Yet our server, who was polite, clearly would benefit from fine dining service orientation. Water not refilled. Entrees served while still finishing salads. Tables in general disorganization. Overall rushed disposition. It's sad that service is more consistent with a chain steak house and not fine dining. This all assumes that the chef/owner desires front of the house service worthy of his creative, delicious endeavors. Looking forward to another visit with refocused staff.
We were there for dinner on October 23,2019. While the food was delicious, the service was dismal. I wrote a detailed letter to the owner/manager who is also the chef. It is now November 8th and there has been no response. We had been there in August to celebrate our wedding anniversary and service was slow but thought it was because the management had failed to hire an extra staff member to accommodate the wedding rehearsal group in the main dining room. That evening our waitress did apologize.
A local establishment owned and operated by a great family that just keeps getting better and better! Their brunch, wine list and diverse menu with well executed dishes are just a few highlights.
Kind and efficient staff. Excellent food and drink selection. They have beer, including a good variety of local brews.
I m not going to try and argue with the one star folks, but our experience was just short of perfect tonight. Got in at 5:30 (we like to eat early) and were seated in the bar area and served by Sarah P. Service was prompt and friendly. We had a filet and scallops. The wine poor was generous and my Yard beer was cold. The filet was cooked perfectly and super tender. Meat is locally sourced. My scallops (4 of them) were perfectly cooked and well presented. We are from Charleston, SC, here on a quick three day swing through Philly, Lancaster, and a Hershey. I d recommend this to anyone. Finally, if you get terrible food and service you need to ask for the owner/GM. Doing so allows instant attention to addressing the issues. By the way the only reason for four stars? It was the cold potatoes that looked great and were well presented, but cold.
Bon Appetite,
Scott
Clean atmosphere, staff were friendly and accomodating. Food was pretty good but alittle pricey.
Great place and staff, but the food were just a little bit expensive
Great food and people are awesome great prices also.
Beautiful garden atmosphere, excellent fresh food with an artistic presentation, attentive service, well stocked bar and many choices for dessert.
horribel Place to work They Curse at me Calles me names. i got hired to work 12 dollars they lied and put my pay as 11. they changed my hole schedule when i got hired. Then didnt want to give me my check when i Quit.
The picture below is my Mom and Dad. With this Pandemic I haven't been able to see much of them. This was a much needed family dinner at The Greenfield. The staff was so accommodating moving heaters around so my Mom could be comfortable. Our server was so animated it was very refreshing. Sorry that I have forgotten his name. Now let's get to the food...it took awhile to come but after the first bite I knew it was so worth the wait. I ordered the rib eye steak cooked rare. The temperature was perfect and it just might have been the best steak I ever had. Melted in my mouth. My nieces also ordered the rib eye to split and they too loved it. I forget now what everyone else had but I'll never forget the amazing steak I had. Highly Reccomend
Tried it only once so far and it was pretty good. Seems like a pretty trendy place to go if you're in the college next door.
Amazing service both times I've been there. Food is delicious and the servings are perfect. The menu isn't overwhelming. We were there in February and again in July.
Two words.
Up.
Scale.
Yes there is a bar, but don't come in your jeans and t-shirt or you'll feel like a slob. I felt awkward in my khakis and polo shirt.
Food was good, I had the shrimp and grits. No complaints. Decent beer selection, more of a cocktail bar though.
Was off the main drag away from traffic. Easy to get to from the hotel.
The Filet Mignon was a dry $32.00 cut...and they have changed the Creme Brulee!!! If you liked it before please, please tell them, because it is a different shape and tastes like bad Flan now.
Think long and hard before coming. We enter the restaurant on what should have been a busy night. We were asked by the old hostess lady if we had a reservation we did not. She got incredibly angry that we didn't have one in a restaurant with three filled tables... As the old witch got on her broom to show us to our table which was all the way in a dark corner of the back room, threw our menus on the table and shortly said a server would be around soon. This place used to be top notch and top class. It no longer is one of the best places to eat in Lancaster county let alone the city of Lancaster.
It was OK little heartburn but nothing big to complain about the bathroom needed to be cleaned when I went to wash my hands and it was pretty decent service and food so I can't complain a lot just service quality and cleaning us works a lot
Everything seems to be fine, but there are some staff that needs to observe but still good customer service!!
Not sure if we caught them on a bad night ( Saturday ) service was slow, food fair, atmosphere seemed tense.
a bit hoity for most , accessible but privacy comfort doesn't match the food grade offered and perhaps more transparency on ingredient quality is needed but I'd return to try other entrees.
Elegant atmosphere, cheerful waiter, excellent food. We had a couple selections from the Sunday brunch menu, which were reasonably priced.
Kitchen closed at 8:30 but hours say until 10. Rude staff
Ginza Japanese Restaurant was great. Friendly staff, Awesome Service and Awesome Food
great margaritas..good food..wonderful staff. Thank you, Spencer for taking very care of us
Great dinner experience! Our waitress, Cate, was wonderful. Our meal excellent.
My husband ordered a steak rare with a caesar salad and the steak arrived cold. When he questioned the waitress, she did take it back but brought it back without much difference and missing a piece of the meat (it was pre-sliced). The atmosphere was lovely but food was mediocre at best for the price. We would not recommend and will not be going back.
Food is home chef quality at best but the price tag per dish is too high.
