Golden Visions Design

Renovating a cramped 1,000-square-foot house from 1941 in historic Sunnyvale was a challenge, but Larry Golden at Golden Visions Design made it seamless. After interviewing several professionals, I found Larry to be exactly what I needed. He didn’t just hear my ideas; he truly understood my preferences and incorporated them into the design without forcing his own agenda. His background as a builder really showed. He anticipated practical construction issues, which helped my contractor save both time and money. The digital renderings were also a huge help, allowing me to visualize trade-offs before committing to final decisions. Throughout the remodel, Larry kept me in the loop and visited the site often to address layout nuances. He also handled city coordination smoothly, resolving any permits or zoning hiccups so I didn’t have to stress. It’s been over a year since we moved in, and I still love the way the space flows now. Every time I use a custom cabinet or enjoy the open feel of the renovated rooms, I’m reminded of how well Larry balanced modern aesthetics with the home’s historic character. I recommend Golden Visions Design wholeheartedly.

Working with Larry Golden was a fantastic experience. He designed a 500 sq ft addition for our second floor, taking the time to listen and refine the plans with us to balance cost and functionality. His knowledge of Santa Cruz City planning and building codes was invaluable, and he coordinated smoothly with the contractor and engineer to get the approvals. I’m especially proud that the project earned a Green Project award from the City. Larry strikes a great balance between professional expertise and flexibility, resulting in a beautiful, seamless extension that feels like a natural part of our home.
