Beware of Non-Refundable Deposits

My son and future daughter-in-law were due to get married in June. Due to government restrictions, this was not possible, and Glemham Hall were unable to fulfill their part of the contract.





This seems a large deposit for just booking a date. No other services have been provided, and no written statement of expenses has been provided.

Due to the ongoing uncertainty regarding restrictions and how they will effect weddings next year, planning a wedding reception for approximately 70 people will be impossible for April, as the government restrictions will at present run to the end of March 2021.

Although Glemham Hall states the deposits are non-refundable, under these circumstances, to keep the deposits without any work being carried out is neither fair of ethical. From a legal point of view, I believe that deposits cannot be unfairly non-refundable.

I hope that an appropriate solution can be found.

Went to a meet Father Christmas event and it was very good.
The experience for our granddaughter was superb.
The Father Christmas was the best one we have experienced over the years.
The crafts for the children were good.
Will go next year.

I just wanted to send a huge thank-you for an amazing afternoon with you all.
My 2 children thought the afternoon was simply magical and I wanted to send an email to thank all your staff (aka the elves) a message of thanks for bringing some kind of normality back and keeping the magical spirit of Christmas alive.
Everything was organised so well and having been last year, nothing much had changed really (which is a positive) and a credit to you all.
Father Christmas took time with each of my children, so warmly and sensitively and their faces told a million stories.

We visited for the Christmas event and it was AMAZING. Such a lovely and magical experience throughout. I initially thought it was on the expensive side, but it was absolutely worth every penny. Will definitely be booking again next year.

We had the most magical day visiting Father Christmas at Glemham Hall this year, this was our second year and it was every bit as magical as the first year even with the covid restrictions. The crafts kept my daughters (7 and 3) entertained, the reindeer hunt in the gardens was lovely and Father Christmas was simply brilliant, he asked the girls lots of questions, made them laugh and gave them a lovely present each. Will definitely be coming back again next year...Well done Glemham Hall for helping create memories for my family.

Having worked at Glemham Hall many times over the years it is always a delight to be back. Donna and the team always put their couples first and go above and beyond to make their days special.

I highly recommend Glemham Hall for all size weddings, from small intimate weddings in their beautiful orangery too larger weddings in the stunning gardens and luxury marquee.

Being a wedding photographer I can appreciate that there are so many stunning spots for photos, both inside and outside. I particularly love the rose gardens for the pop of colour and the long grasses around the side of the house.

Thank you for recently hosting our styled shoot, I really enjoyed being back at the venue and to be creative alongside other wedding suppliers. I can t wait to photograph at Glemham again soon!
