PayMe is a social experiment run by Giving Study that asks participants whether they would give $5 to a stranger. Participants complete a survey about their decision-making and are entered into a pool from which one active stranger is randomly selected per round, with the role rotating after a set period of time. Any $5 contributions collected are processed through Stripe's secure checkout and are non-refundable. The study will examine how responses vary across demographics such as gender, age, income, education, and location, with full results shared once the first stranger's term has concluded. Participant data is kept confidential and is not sold.
