I’ve been a Project Engineer at Gallagher & Burk since 2010, and the experience has been fantastic. Working alongside dedicated colleagues, as well as our public and private clients, subcontractors, and vendors, has been truly rewarding. The company manages to offer a charming small-business atmosphere while still providing ample resources and room for growth. Thanks to that close-knit, family-oriented vibe, I’ve built lasting relationships both at work and outside the office.

Stepping into Gallagher & Burk in Oakland right after college felt daunting, but the experience exceeded all expectations. I found a team of driven professionals who genuinely support each other and ensure you succeed. The mentors here are eager to share their expertise, fostering a sense of unity that is rare to find. It is a fantastic place to build a career, offering both a supportive atmosphere and endless opportunities for professional growth.

Working alongside Gallagher & Burk on two major design/build projects at the Port of Oakland was a genuine pleasure. Located in Oakland, CA, these sites—Cool Port and CenterPoint Landing—were far from typical greenfield jobs, requiring complex solutions for rail integration, massive ground improvements, and large-scale excavation. Gallagher & Burk proved to be a true partner, collaborating closely with our team to tackle operational hurdles and navigate the intricate permitting requirements for both the Port and the City before breaking ground. Their proactive approach to solving these site-specific challenges made a significant difference. We highly value their contribution and look forward to partnering with them on future projects.

Working with Gallagher & Burk on the taxiway Charlie emergency was a real pleasure. Their team did an excellent job coordinating with Airport Operations, Aviation Security, and the Port’s engineering projects group. They not only got the repair done quickly but also implemented a lasting solution that gives us total confidence in the work.
