I've been with this market since I was a child, seeing renovations, faces changes , new cultural, and new foods!

Lots of interesting knick knacks and great produce. Go when it is warmer, might be a tad more crowded but there will also be more vendors.

All kinds of good vedg and fruit with multi ethnicity of hot foods great shops,I will visit often,cant forget about deli inside,off the chain,but locals know already.

I love Eastern Market! I usually purchase all my cheeses for the holidays and I especially like the stand with the fresh sausages.

Very disappointing. Few vendors, mostly produce and meats.

Safe area, good metro connection, nice restaurants, cafes. Good parks to go with animals or kids or to exercise in.

Always fun. Good local fish, meat market inside the building. Wear a hat, it can get hot. And bring cash.

Love Eastern Market, quality of food is great & it's clean.

Prices too high,parking is impossible, streets closed off, hard for the handicapped to get groceries,and other items to your car. Vendors are friendly and helpful. Security is good,area is kept clean.

I love visiting Eastern market on the weekends! It never gets old.

This is a great old original market in the district. They have a great ensemble of vendors that offer a terrific selection of foods that are unusual and hard to find.

Small market with approximately 3 blocks of vendors (single file), so not overly huge at all. Some antiques, farmers, and artists. Was quaint and worth a stop if you're looking for something different while visiting DC.

We love the farmer's market and the surrounding businesses. Great family outing on the weekends

A fantastic open-air market with all manner of vendors selling everything from art and jewelry to fresh produce and hot lunches.

Go to the very last stand where the cute old lady sells her bakery products. Then order any sandwich you want, you can add a smoothie or a drink, find a place seat and prepare for the journey. Her sandwiches (all of them) are just delicious.
They are the most classical food you could get. Taste totally like homemade so if you need something easy to get and fast to eat then you should go there. The Hamilton sandwich is the most random you can eat but it s delicious! Paninis are also breathtaking but I cannot understand putting lettuce inside them. Smoothies I would recommend without any doubts - full of taste and very refreshing. Go and get them!

Swooped through on a Sunday as we went for a stroll through DC. Lots of interesting vendors with really cool stuff, most hand made by vendor.

Amazing selection of meats and vegetables. Got smoked mozzarella ravioli and Italian sausage to make for a dinner party. One of the best meals I've had in a while.

I love markets!!! It helps that this is one of the best in the country and is full of delicious food and drink -- but honestly? Lots of the food nearby the market zone are worth visiting over many of the restaurants in the market itself. Get off the Eastern Market metro and do some exploring and you'll find some local hits!

Good farmers market in season. Price's are very reasonable

Came here on a late Tuesday afternoon. The place was slow and quiet. Came on a weekend a few years ago and there were a lot of vendors and people.

Not a complete market, and no farmers there. The range of products offered is rather small, and there are only very few opportunities to enjoy the local food in a convenient environment.

Great prices, but expected more variety in fruits and veggies. Loved that they had picanha.

My favorite place to be on a Saturday morning! It s a great for just take a stroll and observing the products of the local sellers, but I can resist supporting and I always end up buying something unique and beautiful.

A wonderful small space where many many vendors can sell items but mostly serve dishes small and large, enough space a wedding including the band. A restroom is close and it is easy walking distance from the metro.

Nice but limited in options. Migth be getting larger since the area is becoming more and more popular. Still, interesting finds. Great used books store a block away

I never have problems buying the Meats that I want and the quality is great.

Fun place to check out and grab a bite. Entire family enjoys making this a stop every time we visit the area.

Always kind of hit or miss as far as the vendors are concerned. Produce is mostly just the same stuff you find at a grocery store (with notable exceptions)

Going to the Eastern Market is more than just doing my groceries. It's a place where people talk to each other, enjoy themselves with colors, smells, textures and tastes of local produce, flowers, arts and crafts. You will find people from Mali to Poland bringing their cultures, local design companies with great ideas and the artists that bring life to the place. Can't go without drinking the lemonade from the Amish family from PA that sells goat cheese and curds.

Really nice farmers market, but it's pretty pricey. It gets packed on the weekends though.

I always love this place- great crabcakes, weekend breakfast always fantastic. Line can be a little long, but well-managed.

The best place for fresh vegetables and meat..hot foods too

I want to like this place and I've only been a couple of times but the vendors haven't been v helpful or friendly either time. I think if I lived close by and made this my regular place for meats, pasta, veg etc I would appreciate it more.

Some kitchy items and a few interesting finds. Worth a visit. Metro stop is right at south end.

EASTERN MARKET IS A GREAT PLACE TO GET FRESH MEATS AND VEGETABLES , FRUIT AND THEY HAVE OTHER SHOP AROUND IN THAT SAME AREA AT EASTERN MARKET JUST AS WELL AS THE SUBWAY STATION TO AND A DUCAN DONUTS AND A STARBUCKS COFFEE SHOP JUST AS WELL AS POPEYES FRIED CHICKEN AND OTHER LITTLE NICE RESTAURANTS AND BAKERY'S TO IT IS A NICE PLACE TO VISIT IF YOU WANT TO GO OUT FOR A DAY OR EVENING OUT WITH A LOVE ONE OR A SPECIAL FRIEND

I've always liked the Market, I appreciate being able to get fresh foods, especially produce. The market definitely can be pricey but my philosophy is you get what you pay for, better quality foods cost more.

We love strolling through this market, which has many of the vendors from our parents generation when they lived here in the 80s. Market lunch is the best!

Everything you may need for your weekly groceries...plus souvenirs and other tchotchkes.

We went during the week and its was fun to look around with a huge amount of selection. On Sundays there is an outdoor market with a variety of goods.

Eh used to be cool. Now it's just an over priced yuppy market..... But with that being said, lol welcome to DC

Always fun to visit the Eastern Market. Great selection of fresh produce, meats, and cheeses. Cool place for arts and entertainment. Everything you can imagine is available here. I have brought furniture, jewelry, breakfast, lunch, dinner; even a Christmas tree!

The only thing that had me bothered was having to wait in line just to get a cookie & coffee. It was waaayy too many people even though it was for shopping but maybe most of "them" were window shopping.
But the great thing about Eastern Market was the food was fresh & affordable. Ill make it there again & hopefully i wont this issue when i arrive.

Eastern Market is a wonderful place to pick up quality food and art. My favorite artist is Joel Traylor. His art is whimsical and colorful and brightens my home.

It's was enjoyable, there was a lot to see and experience with different vendors. There different cultural foods as well.

This market been here for years! I remember coming when I was a child. It has a good variety of nice fruits and veggies. Fresh stuff meats fish seafood... oh and the bakery stand is everything! on Saturday they have vendors outside with art, clothing, natural soaps, etc.

Fun little bizarre with street vendors & fresh markets.

If I was going to be in the area longer and cooking more, I would have had more chance to interact with the people manning the stores here, but I didn't need any cookable grocery items. I was, however, looking for gift-able items but there weren't many that wouldn't spoil before being given.

Like the fresh vegetables and meats. Shopped there for over 40 years.

Really cool market with more vendors and options than your typical farmers market. From food to furniture, clothing, fresh drinks, jewelry and other artisans, have much to offer. Enjoyable to walk around even if you're just "window shopping"

Got home cooked turkey slices & imported swiss cheese for next week's lunch (different vendors). Bathrooms clean & well stocked.

My favorite place to get my fresh meats. Very good market and plenty of store selections.

Love the place, nice variety. The Oriental vendors are rude and impatient. Most vendors are foreigners and kinda impatient and seem to speak very little American, so if you don't mind the broken communication, go there. The cheese vendor is the best, and gives a military discount. All are pricey.

Nice people. The prices are high but the items are quality.

Great food at the at the counter community eatery...I forget the name if the place
