FC Goa: A Premier Football Club in India
FC Goa is a professional football club based in the Indian state of Goa. The club was founded in 2014 and has since become one of the most successful teams in the Indian Super League (ISL). FC Goa is owned by Goan Football Club Pvt. Ltd., which is co-owned by Jaydev Mody, Akshay Tandon, and Virat Kohli.
The team's home ground is the Fatorda Stadium, which has a seating capacity of 19,000 spectators. The stadium is located in Margao, South Goa and has been FC Goa's home ground since its inception.
FC Goa's journey began with their participation in the inaugural season of ISL in 2014. The team finished runners-up that year after losing to Atletico de Kolkata in the final. However, they bounced back strongly next season to reach their second consecutive final but lost again to Chennaiyin FC.
In 2018-19 season, under head coach Sergio Lobera, FC Goa played some scintillating football and finished top of the league table for the first time ever. They also reached their third ISL final but lost again to Bengaluru FC this time around.
However, it was not all doom and gloom for FC Goa as they won their first major trophy that same year by winning the Super Cup after defeating Chennaiyin FC 2-1 in a thrilling final.

Despite facing several challenges due to COVID-19 pandemic restrictions on training and travel during ISL Season 7 (2020-21), Ferrando led his team into playoffs where they were knocked out by Mumbai City F.C..
