Another diamond in the rough from Fanatical that quickly loses its shine. The core concept is solid, but the execution is painfully mediocre. The game is plagued by jarring UI glitches and severe lag, especially when blocks are destroyed rapidly. The gameplay loop is essentially 80% mindless autopilot travel across the map—if you’re playing, definitely use a time compression cheat (x40 or more); I realized this too late and wasted 118 hours when 20 would have sufficed. To break it down: 10% is spent battling the buggy interface, 5% reading dialogues, 3% on crafting and officer gear, and only 2% actual combat. You’ll spend an agonizing 10 minutes doing nothing while a fight that should last a minute drags on for 20 seconds against dumb bots. Refresh rates for stores are sluggish, taking up to a week, and crafting takes 4 to 30+ real-time hours. You’re either stuck watching it run at max 20x speed or constantly resting at the dock.

Desolate is a buggy mess with plenty of animation and visual glitches, which is why I’m giving it a 1/5 rating on Fanatical. It does have solid mechanics, decent horror elements and sound, and the story is the best part. If you can get past the glitches and enjoy good story-driven horror games, it might be worth it.

I bought this title through Fanatical and it has been a thrilling ride. The combat is genuinely engaging, especially when the environment crumbles around you. Switching Super Saiyan forms on the fly adds a great strategic layer, forcing you to manage your resources carefully. Visually, the game is stunning; the art style makes both the characters and the world look incredible. You also get a fantastic variety of playable characters, allowing you to build a custom lineup of three that fits your playstyle. On the downside, the side quests can be quite tedious. Sometimes it feels more like a resource-gathering simulator than a fighting game, with tasks like collecting seven apples before facing the next boss. The story pacing also had some hiccups; despite the source material having 300 episodes, the narrative moved surprisingly fast, referencing events from later seasons (like episode 200+) early on. Finally, the sheer volume of content in the DLCs makes replaying the base game less appealing. Overall, it’s definitely worth playing if you get the chance, but I’d recommend waiting for a sale on the DLC bundle before diving in fully.

I bought this highly anticipated title from Fanatical, and it’s essentially a broken mess on my Steam Deck. Enabling VSync puts the whole game in slow motion, not just a low framerate but actual slow-mo. It also breaks the menu navigation; pressing up and down spam commands, so you can’t select "settings" because it jumps instantly from the top option to the bottom, skipping right over it. I had to manually edit the ini file to disable VSync. Without it, constant screen tearing makes the game look unwatchable. Worse, the online mode is completely dead. I waited hours for a match with zero luck. Since the game was released specifically for live arcade-style fighting instead of CPU bots, this bug kills the experience. With fighting games, the launch window is critical, and a broken online mode dooms the player base. The count is already dropping because people can’t find matches, and they aren’t coming back. Disappointing 2024 release. As a huge fan of Marvel vs Capcom from the late 90s, I wanted to love this, but Capcom released a flawed product for $50. Save your money; they don’t deserve the sale.

Fanatical really delivers on immersive experiences. The atmosphere and narrative depth here are top-notch, creating a perfectly dark and twisted vibe that I loved. It feels like a great find, especially when you catch those bundle deals. While the base price might be slightly lower elsewhere and the pacing can feel a bit slow, the dramatic music and overall aesthetic make it totally worth it.

I recently grabbed this point-and-click adventure from Fanatical and was pleasantly surprised. Catie in Meowmeowland serves as a spiritual successor to Alice in Wonderland, and the presentation is top-notch. The character rigging, animation, and overall art style are genuinely impressive. Gameplay revolves around exploring each scene with your mouse to find interactive elements and solve puzzles to move forward. It’s a colorful, bizarre, and wacky world filled with expressive characters who speak in fun, silly gibberish. If you enjoy mystery and quirky aesthetics, this is a great find on the platform.

Buy it. Seriously, just get it on Fanatical whether it’s discounted or not. This is the grandfather of open-world gaming, and it remains ahead of its time. I usually can’t stand RPGs—five minutes is my limit—but Skyrim completely changed that for me. It’s the undisputed king of the genre. The constant quests ensure you’re never bored, and the freedom to mix and match playstyles, like being a warrior who can also wield magic, is unmatched. Don’t waste time scrolling through reviews or watching YouTube; you have to live the experience yourself to truly appreciate it. It’s absolutely worth the full price. I was lucky enough to snag it for just £5 during a summer sale on Fanatical, but I’d pay full price again without hesitation. I’m someone who usually plays a game once and moves on, but I’ve logged hours every single day since I bought it. I’m even aiming to 100% the achievements. The excitement never fades. Buy it.

I picked up this title on Fanatical and played through the whole thing. You control Sigi, a gaseous knight, as he traverses a grassy landscape across 20 short levels to rescue a mermaid, with four of those stages dedicated to boss fights. I wish there were more levels to explore. While the pixel art is charming, the setting feels repetitive since it stays in one location the entire time. On the plus side, the controls are snappy and responsive. I enjoyed hunting for secret areas and collecting items to gather. Combat is a mix of classic arcade styles; you can grab projectile weapons to hurl at foes, similar to Contra or Castlevania, or simply stomp on regular enemies from above. The game introduces new enemy types gradually as you progress. It’s also quite forgiving, making it easy to farm extra lives in regular stages to give yourself a better chance against the final bosses. Speedrunners will appreciate the leaderboards and the challenge of collecting everything and finishing in under 30 minutes.

For a game I hold in such high regard, I find the criticism regarding its difficulty to be largely overblown. It offers a fresh start akin to a new Souls-like experience, presenting an environment that is both breathtakingly beautiful and unforgivingly dangerous, where every victory is marked by glorious runes. Don’t let outside voices dictate your approach; just play it your way and enjoy the journey.

For fans of narrative-driven sci-fi shooters, this title is a solid buy, especially if you grab it during a sale on Fanatical. I tackled it on Specialist difficulty, which felt like the perfect sweet spot—it wasn’t too punishing against regular grunts, yet the boss battles provided a genuine challenge. The premise is engaging: you play as a scientist investigating an anomaly hovering above Earth, and the plot keeps you hooked with some nice twists. However, the technical side is a mixed bag. While the soundtrack fits the mood well, the game isn’t exactly optimized for average PCs, often leading to significant FPS drops and lower-quality cutscenes. It’s not a game you’ll replay endlessly, but as an 8/10 experience, it offers a refreshing departure from standard shooters for anyone who loves a good space mystery.

Picked up this title on sale from Fanatical and it’s definitely a cozy gem. The pixel art is charming and the overall aesthetic is incredibly cute. I switched the fishing to easy mode to keep the vibe low-key, as the harder difficulty felt a bit too intense for a chill experience. It’s clear the developers put a lot of thought into how everything comes together, and the gameplay flows smoothly. However, there are some frustrating design choices. When selling inventory, you have to sell everything at once. While the game is smart enough to protect items needed for active quests, it doesn’t let you reserve resources for the research journal or future crafting needs. I finished 100% in about 3.5 hours, though a good chunk of that was just waiting for resources to accumulate. I actually had to start a second playthrough because I missed two easily overlooked achievements, which seems to be a common issue given the Steam stats. If you enjoy pixel art and relaxing games, this is a solid pick.

Fanatical is the perfect place to grab this must-play title. It’s a unique blend where you actually craft your art with your own hands, avoiding simple macro spamming. You make genuine artistic choices on your PC, and the best part? Everyone loves what you create. A true 5-star experience.

Picked up Crime o'clock from Fanatical, but the experience ended up being more frustrating than fun. The early cases are decent—short and engaging enough—but the quality really dips as you progress. The game drags on with an endless stream of unskippable minigames that feel like cheap padding. You often get disoriented, forced to retrace your steps to find specific people instead of simply following them through the timeline, and navigation in areas like the Z-district feels arbitrary. Hints are barely useful, and once you exhaust the three options without success, you’re left high and dry with no way to get guided to the next objective. I’ve sunk over 17 hours in and still have a way to go, which is aggravating given how much of that time is wasted on repetitive tasks. The highlight is definitely the extra levels where you can freely time-travel to uncover character stories—that’s the only part that was genuinely enjoyable.

Purchased the uncut Steam version via Fanatical, which was a huge plus since the standard German release had some censorship. I’m typically not a zombie genre fan, so I approached Dead Island 2 with low expectations but was thoroughly pleasantly surprised. The early game is a tense experience of scavenging for viable weapons and hiding from threats until you unlock your abilities. Once you get the hang of the combat, the shift to full-on action is exhilarating—especially with the diverse zombie types that force you to learn their patterns or get wrecked. I highly recommend the "Haus" and "SoLA" story expansions; they are worth the extra cost. My only hesitation is regarding the cosmetic packs. Since you lock in your character at the start, buying a bundle with a skin for a character you don't play through (like Amy in the Deluxe version if you play as Ryan) renders that skin useless for that save file. The DLC weapons are a mixed bag, too. They are balanced with the story progression and can be upgraded for a few dollars, but named weapons are bound to your inventory, so buying them all will quickly fill your locker with fixed slots. I put in about 38 hours total, including the main story, side quests, and both DLCs, finishing it in just a few weeks. For 35 euros on sale, it’s a fantastic value. While the 100% completion grind in the final hours can feel a bit repetitive, the challenge is far from annoying. Easily one of the most fun I’ve had in a long time.

Paying for this title on Fanatical feels like a gamble these days. My PSN account is a hard requirement for it, yet that crucial detail isn't highlighted on the site. To make matters worse, they denied my refund simply because the purchase was too old. With Steam already removing the game from regions where PSN accounts are inaccessible, buying here right now feels risky.

I’m done buying from Fanatical. Their support team was incredibly unhelpful. First, they told me to just create a free PSN account, which didn't solve the problem. Then they claimed the game worked as expected, even though it was completely unplayable afterward. They denied my refund based on age, despite this being a clear technical glitch. If this had happened on Steam, I would have gotten a hassle-free refund regardless of playtime.

Sony pulling the rug under players
Reviews 1

Buying on Fanatical felt like a gamble with this release. The requirement for a PSN account to play wasn’t clearly communicated at launch, which is frustrating. It looks like Sony is just updating their FAQ to make the mandatory PSN policy official, effectively making the Steam version somewhat pointless. To add insult to injury, Fanatical denied my refund request simply because the purchase had been made a few months ago. Since Sony’s strict rules prevent refunds after two hours or a certain time period, they are essentially trapping players with a product that feels redundant. A solid 1/5 due to the lack of transparency and the difficult refund policy.

I’ve been playing on Fanatical, and initially, the experience was fantastic. The game offered great depth with its factions and teamwork mechanics, plus it was surprisingly generous with premium currency drops. The cross-platform integration was seamless, and even the little details, like using a shield backpack to revive a friend, added so much charm. But things took a sharp turn around May 6th. They started requiring an active PlayStation account to play, which is a huge problem for those of us in regions where PS isn’t supported. Since we’d already put significant hours into the game, we were stuck without a refund option. It’s incredibly frustrating to be locked out of a game we bought and played for months, just because of a sudden platform restriction.

Picked up this title on Fanatical, and it remains one of the best gaming experiences I’ve had. The premise of stepping into the shoes of a vampire is executed brilliantly, especially regarding movement mechanics that truly capture that Dracula-esque feel. Even though it’s been out since 2014, the visual presentation still holds up remarkably well. The voice acting deserves special praise for its quality. What stands out is the platforming; it avoids the frustration common in third-person games by using auto-snapping to platforms, making it more about positioning and timing than pixel-perfect precision. The combat system is equally engaging, offering a solid mix of parrying, blocking, dodging, and special combos unlocked through skill trees. The focus meter adds a rewarding layer of strategy, incentivizing clean hits with tangible in-game benefits rather than just a score count, much like the Batman Arkham series. It’s a shame a sequel didn’t materialize, but this game stands strong on its own merits.

Purchased my first title from Fanatical and was a bit nervous about the process. The site acted up a couple of times, showing "game currently not available," but it resolved itself quickly, and the download went through smoothly. Happy with the service! I also realized halfway through writing that this might be the wrong section for a game review. Sorry about that. The game itself is fantastic—probably my favorite entry in the Fallout series. The atmosphere, the combat, and the weight of your choices are unmatched. The soundtrack is absolutely perfect, especially that iconic theme playing while you stroll through the wasteland with a Sunset Sarsaparilla in hand and raiders on your map. Absolutely love it.

I was surprised to find myself enjoying this title so much despite not being a poker fan. The moment the Jokers activate and the multipliers spike, it feels incredibly rewarding. While the heavy reliance on RNG is a bit of a downside, it’s hard to blame that given the poker-inspired mechanics.

I’d give Fanatical a 2 out of 5. I ran into the old Western guy’s house only to find a zombie bursting into flames. The annoying part? The "catching fire" sound effect repeated every ten seconds for the next eight minutes while I stayed there. It was incredibly distracting and ruined the immersion.

I had a blast playing this title on Fanatical. The narrative is captivating, the characters are well-developed, and the control scheme offers a nice balance of accessibility and depth depending on your settings. Every session feels engaging. Just keep in mind that it’s a bit demanding on hardware, so double-check your PC’s specs to ensure smooth performance.

Discovered a frustrating issue while purchasing through Fanatical. The product description clearly states that the key is valid for activation in Georgia, but when I attempted to activate it, Steam informed me that the region code is incorrect for my location. It’s a shame because the game itself is great, so this is definitely not a fault of the title. I’d really appreciate some clarification or support from the team to resolve this geo-restriction discrepancy.

Just a quick heads-up from a happy buyer on Fanatical: make sure you’re grabbing the correct version of the game. This isn’t the old 2016 release (App ID 367020) that was taken off Steam. You’re getting the updated title available on Steam now, under App ID 1289060. Perfectly described and delivered as expected.

A solid experience with a compelling narrative that knows exactly when to wrap up. The visuals really stand out, particularly the atmospheric lighting and shadows. It’s accessible yet engaging, taking about six to eight hours to beat. Really happy to see this title make the move from Stadia to other platforms. As a long-time fan of Tequila Works, I appreciate their style and can’t wait to see what they bring to the gaming scene next.

Fanatical is a reliable source for digital entertainment, and their pricing made this purchase a no-brainer. The game itself is a solid 7/10 experience that often gets overlooked but deserves a second chance, especially if you’re a fan of titles like Far Cry or Homefront: The Revolution. The standout feature is undoubtedly the gunplay; once you unlock the full suite of abilities, the experience is incredibly satisfying. The feeling of mowing down an entire base while dashing around at top speed is only matched by DOOM Eternal. There are some rough edges, though. Driving with a keyboard and mouse feels a bit clunky, though you can get used to it with some custom keybindings. The game also doesn't explain its systems very well, so I’d highly recommend checking out a "before you play" guide online to understand the mechanics better before diving in. I picked up the Deluxe Edition on the site for $16 and added the Terrormania DLC for $20. While the $5 value of the DLC is there, not everything in the pack felt worth the extra cost. Still, considering the total package and the gameplay loop, I felt I got great value for my money. If you enjoy open-world shooters, this is definitely worth grabbing on sale.

Playing on Mac, especially M1, leaves you with very few alternatives, making this title a necessity despite its flaws. The experience feels rushed—tactical depth is shallow and the campaign is painfully linear. For the limited content delivered, the price tag feels inflated; I’d say a fair value is under two dollars.

Jack Move is a fantastic choice for JRPG fans who love futuristic vibes. The audio design is particularly impressive, seamlessly blending city ambience with battle tracks that shift abruptly into distinct rhythms. The combat system revolves around a deck-building mechanic where you select a limited number of skills and three hardware items to trigger various status effects, allowing for deep strategic combinations. It also features a classic rock-paper-scissors elemental triangle. Whether you grab it on promo or at full price, it’s well worth it. Definitely worth a try!

I purchased One Piece Odyssey via Fanatical, and it’s a mixed bag. It’s a perfectly average RPG that doesn’t stand out in any particular area. The narrative jumps between different timelines and revisits classic arcs like Alabasta, Water Seven, Marineford, and Dressrosa, which was cool, but the execution felt rushed. Since I was reliving these old storylines, I expected more depth, but many key battles were skipped. The side content wasn’t great—quests often just involved hunting for random items or fighting basic enemies, and the memory links felt forgettable. The world exploration was serviceable, and the pacing was mostly good, except for the Alabasta arc, which dragged on a bit too long. That said, it still captures that beloved One Piece charm and brought back some nostalgia. If you’re a die-hard fan of the series, it’s a worthwhile, if flawed, experience.

Fanatical’s platform feels a bit too bare-bones for fans of classic boomer shooters. If that’s your main focus, it’s fine, but otherwise, you probably won’t need it. It’s a fun concept, though limited in what it actually delivers. Still, considering this was largely the work of a single developer, the effort is quite impressive.

I picked up a game from Fanatical to play with a friend, and it’s been quite the mixed bag. The first three hours were fantastic—it really captured that Skyrim vibe with a world that felt great to explore. However, our second two-hour session was absolutely brutal. We ran into some egregious game design issues. After a silly death left us with half health, we went to restock on water at the coast and were immediately ambushed by a fully armored bandit. We died instantly and spawned in a prison stripped of our gear. When we finally escaped, half our inventory was already gone, and it took ten agonizing minutes to find our backpack because it hadn’t spawned at our death location. We were low on health and gear, so we tried to seek refuge in the nearby city, only to end up back in prison. The next time we escaped, we respawned on the opposite side of the map with even less loot. We trudged back to the start, only to die repeatedly from low health and a relentless barrage of unexplained diseases. I don’t mind survival mechanics like managing temperature or food poisoning, but the game fails to explain how to handle them. We had to actually Google how to cure indigestion because the in-game tutorial was useless. It feels less like a challenge and more like the game is punishing you for its own flaws. You get stuck in a loop of dying, losing progress, and being left with nothing to heal with. It’s just poorly designed.

I picked up the Cathay, Kislev, and Tzeentch lord and unit pack from Fanatical. It offers some entertaining manipulation mechanics, and the recent 4.2 update helps balance the DLC content with what was introduced in earlier packs. If you missed the initial launch, it’s definitely worth checking out, especially during one of their sales.

Picking this up on Fanatical was easily the best co-op experience I’ve had in a long time. Even the inevitable deaths end up being more funny than frustrating. The game offers great depth if you want to coordinate tactics with friends, but it’s just as entertaining if you prefer to just charge in headfirst and hope for the best. It’s a brilliant title that stays on my mind long after I log off.

I picked this up from Fanatical, hoping for a chill experience, but it turned out to be quite the opposite. The narrative is forgettable and lacks depth. Despite the "relaxing" label, the gameplay feels punishing: there’s no difficulty toggle, zombies can take a ton of hits, and they kill you just as easily. Plus, the pacing is off—after two hours, I still hadn’t unlocked a working firearm. Between the frustrating combat and the dull story, it was hard not to dislike it.

Getting online with Capcom ID feels a bit restrictive right out of the gate, which is a bit of a letdown. Still, it’s a positive step for the franchise. I’m keeping an eye on whether they’ll pile on more DRM for the PC release; if so, sticking to console might be the better move.

I really enjoyed this relaxing strategy title available on Fanatical. It’s a side-scrolling game where you manage your city simply by dropping coins onto the ground. The mechanics are charming: beggars pick up coins to become citizens, while others are directed to forges to craft tools or weapons, transforming into builders, farmers, or fighters. You can also drop coins on buildings for upgrades or on piles of earth to summon walls. The core loop involves defending against nightly attacks from monsters called "Greed." If they get through your defenses, you lose coins; lose too many, and you lose your crown, ending the game. Your ultimate goal is to destroy the portals these monsters spawn from. The game also features various upgrades, mounts, skins, and special powers. What I appreciate most is how low-stress it is. It’s the perfect game to play during Zoom meetings because it doesn’t demand intense focus, allowing you to listen to conversations while your city runs itself. Definitely worth checking out on fanatical.com if you like light real-time strategy games.

Fanatical is the perfect place to pick up this gem. The game’s simple concept evolves into one of the most addictive and engaging experiences you can find. It is flawlessly designed yet incredibly easy to grasp, making it hard not to adore every single aspect of it. Fanatical, your platform handled this purchase, but the game itself is a real headache. It has its moments, especially when you’re playing with friends, but it doesn’t quite stick around long enough to be worth the effort. The standard difficulty feels punishing rather than challenging; you get wrecked by the alien bugs way too easily. We found the Zen mode to be a much more enjoyable experience, managing to squeeze out a couple of matches before the repetition set in. The control scheme is needlessly confusing. Walking with WASD is fine, but the actions are all over the place: 'z' for pickup, 'c' for drop, and then either 'z' or 'x' to use what you’re holding. Even adjusting the settings feels like a chore. But the dealbreaker is the bugs. The matchmaking is a mess. We’d be in a lobby together, able to see each other, but one person couldn’t hit "ready" for no reason. Worse, we often ended up in separate lobbies despite accepting an invite, or the game would start randomly without us all being ready. After spending five minutes just trying to get a match to launch, the annoyance outweighed the fun. It’s a decent game if you can tolerate the glitches, but I can’t recommend it based on my experience.

Picked up Cat Quest II on Fanatical because my partner and I loved the first one. We were excited for the local co-op, even if it’s strictly online-based. While the creative quests and puns are still a highlight, the game has drifted a bit from what made the original so lovable. The map is huge, which adds variety but makes travel painfully slow, and the difficulty spike feels unfair. You’re constantly fighting against tight spaces and overwhelming enemy numbers, making it easy to lose track of your characters and die repeatedly. It’s not just challenging; it’s frustrating. We’re grinding at level 70 and still struggling with level 60 dungeons because the scaling seems off. It feels like the developers prioritized difficulty over fun, turning a charming adventure into a repetitive test of patience. I wanted to love it, but the constant rage-quitting makes it hard to recommend.

I was genuinely surprised by how much I liked this title from Fanatical. The visuals are stunning and truly the highlight, creating a beautiful world that feels like a peaceful stroll on a small island. The audio design, including the music and narration, does an incredible job building a chilling yet calming atmosphere. While the plot can be quite dense—I only grasped about half of it on my first run—I found the extra commentary mode to be a helpful addition for clarity. My only hesitation is the price point; paying full price for a 60-90 minute experience feels steep, so I’d recommend waiting for a sale on fanatical.com if you’re on the fence.

Fanatical did a great job bringing this fighting game to the platform. The character roster and narrative are a definite step up from Tekken 7. I’ve always considered Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy to be among the best Star Wars titles I’ve played on PC. What really stands out is how enjoyable these games remain despite their age. While they can be quite challenging on a controller compared to the precision of mouse and keyboard, the rest of the bundle offers solid content. I dove into Jedi Academy and am thoroughly enjoying it. The variety of lightsabers is impressive, and the combat mechanics are widely regarded as the peak of the series.

Picked this up on Fanatical and I’m really glad I did. The experience starts strong with amazing graphics and music that perfectly set the mood. The main characters, Aria and Astra, have great chemistry, and the dialogue feels genuine. Even the terminal messages from side characters add nice flavor to the world. The environment design is intriguing—some buildings look pretty basic and grey on the outside, but that contrasts well with the interesting story elements. I loved using the bridge cube to explore; finding that little bot in the boat on the beach was a real surprise. The plot is bittersweet, especially towards the end, and showcases some nice determination. I didn’t find the puzzles too hard, though a couple near the finish line were a bit tricky. The game runs smoothly on Ultra settings, with only minor stutters when loading large areas or during big animations. It’s not flawless, though; there were some minor glitches like seeing into hidden spots, weird invisible walls near the bathrooms, and the music cutting out if you stayed in the menu too long. The main menu UI is a bit plain, but it’s a small issue. I would have loved a water splash sound effect when walking on wet ground, and I personally wish for a happier ending, though the bittersweet tone works for the story. Overall, a solid 5/5.

If you are looking for a top-tier classic at Fanatical, this title is a must-have. It is an absolute blast to play with friends, and the single-player campaign offers fascinating lore to uncover. The Unfair difficulty mode is also a great challenge for speedrunners to test their skills. Five stars for sure!
