About Etude wines

Established in 1982, Etude was founded on the philosophy that winemaking begins in the vineyard, long before harvest, and that superior grape growing allows our winemakers to craft wines of exceptional varietal expression and finesse. This ethos remains unwavering as the winery continues to build upon its established legacy of exemplary Pinot Noir.

Etude Wines: Crafting Exceptional Wines with a Vineyard-to-Bottle Philosophy

Established in 1982, Etude Wines is a Napa Valley-based winery that has been crafting exceptional Pinot Noir wines for over three decades. The winery was founded on the belief that great wines are made in the vineyard, and this philosophy remains at the core of everything they do.

At Etude, every wine starts with superior grape growing. The winery sources grapes from some of the best vineyards in California's most renowned wine regions, including Carneros, Santa Barbara County, and Sonoma Coast. By working closely with their growers and carefully selecting only the finest fruit, Etude is able to create wines that showcase exceptional varietal expression and finesse.

The winemaking team at Etude is led by Jon Priest, who has been with the winery since 2005. Under his guidance, each wine is crafted using traditional techniques combined with modern technology to ensure consistency and quality across all vintages. From hand-sorting grapes to aging in French oak barrels sourced from top coopers around the world, every step of the process is carefully managed to bring out the best in each varietal.

Etude's flagship wine is their Pinot Noir – a varietal known for its complexity and elegance. The winery produces several different Pinot Noirs from various vineyards across California's top appellations. Each wine showcases unique characteristics based on its terroir – from bright red fruit flavors to earthy undertones – but all share a common thread of balance and finesse.

In addition to Pinot Noir, Etude also produces Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon wines that are equally impressive. Their Chardonnay offers crisp acidity balanced by rich tropical fruit flavors while their Cabernet Sauvignon boasts bold tannins complemented by dark berry notes.

Beyond their commitment to crafting exceptional wines through sustainable farming practices and meticulous attention to detail during production processes; Etude also offers an immersive experience for visitors at their tasting room located on Highway 29 between St Helena & Calistoga where guests can enjoy tastings or tours through beautiful gardens overlooking stunning views of Napa Valley’s rolling hillsides while learning about how these delicious bottles come together!

Overall; whether you're a seasoned oenophile or just starting your journey into fine wines; there's no better place than Etude Wines when it comes down finding high-quality bottles produced using sustainable methods which will leave you wanting more!
