Usually good service, good ice tea, fast. Their espresso isn't my favorite, but I've found other stuff. The main reason I come here is the size. One of the smallest cafes on State, quiet, and rarely crowded. I come when I need to read, write, or even to play online games when my home Wi-Fi goes out....
One of the older coffee shops left on State Street. You should go support them - they've been at it for longer than you've been in school, you little whippersnappers.
Coffee is good (above average) and they're nice. The bathrooms always had great graffiti.
I stopped by because of the free espresso shot on Friday's. That makes a start to any Friday better! Good coffee, reasonable price and friendly service. Would definitely visit again.
I think their espresso pairs best with honey, so I get honey lattes. They can be a little inconsistent here and the drinks (other than the honey latte) a little sweet for my taste. The sizes run big!
Espresso Royale is a great Street Cafe. It is small and cozy, but the large front windows offer great people watching across from Overture Center for the Arts. The coffee is strong and well made. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Nice for a quick stop for coffee, the shop is very small an...
Best spicy tuna sandwhich something different always get a spicy tuna sandwhich a little more kick then a regular tuna...everybody has a regular tuna sandwhich this one has a spicy tuna
Stopped by during an art fair for some mid-day caffeine catch-up. It was a bit further from the square than most cafes, but that also meant the lines weren't out the door.
There were more "fun flavor" options than some of the other cafes, and I enjoyed the iced raspberry mocha (can't always go fo...
Good coffee and a fair price. Easy to get into. Usually not much of a line like the other place down the street. If there is a line it goes very quickly, so worth the wait. Clean restrooms and friendly staff. I would go here first before the other coffee spots if you are downtown.
Medium hot chocolate and a croissant with a view and Wi-Fi. Also not too busy mid-morning on a Friday. Exactly what I was looking for to get some work done. I would come again.
I went to Espresso Royale to study and was surprised by how many pages I got through in the text book. The beverage was sweet and hot with good company. It's located near the top of State Street which makes it a nice little hot spot.
Small place with cramped seating. Their "featured coffee" tasted like someone brewed coffee through charcoal briquettes. My wife couldn't drink it and ended up drinking my chai latte. I could only just choke it down after about five packs of "sugar-in-raw" and a good dollop of creamer.
One of my favorite coffee places in madison, personally. Good, attentive service. Particular roasts and beans are the only reason not to go here. Your coffee bean and roast taste may differ from mine, but i have appreciated this place (and all espresso royale locations) more than any other in madiso...
Great Americano. Amiable staff. Photo gallery admits artists of all skill levels. Stopping place for many a balladeer. Baristas don't turn over quickly. Nice grilled sandwiches and soup in winter.
Excellent coffee. I tried their dark roast and their vegan brownie. The coffee was everything great about the drink in one cup. Bitter, fruity, smokey and a little acidic all at once. The clash of all these combined to create a product that was a rainbow of flavor, perfect for an adventure on a sunn...
Their mocha tastes exactly the same every time It has a dark roast and high cocoa concentrated flavor to it Its difference in flavor seperates it from other cafes in town
Best coffee shop in Madison. All drinks are made how they should be, steamed milk, shots of espresso and not just warmed up coffee with chocolate milk. Great pastries, friendly staff. The specials are always fantastic, and they use giradelli chocolate for their mochas. Easiest 5 stars I've ever give...
A lovely little coffee house on State Street. I had very friendly and fast service. The atmosphere was clean and pleasant. The drinks were quite tasty too!
Great coffee, I personally prefer the coffee here to michaengelos a block away, since it has stronger coffee with more taste, while in my opinion the Coffee from Michaengelo's tends to taste watery.
The only downside is that it lacks the comfy chairs that Michaengelo's has. If you're going to kil...
