Wonderful creative hub for artists and those interested in the Arts
Nice smallish exhibition space with some excellent pieces on display. Lovely prints available to buy too.
A small gallery upstairs often has free exhibitions to see. You can also watch the printmaking process too.
Large studio for art graphics plus showrooms. Graphics of various formats that were produced here can be purchased. Wide range of art movements and printing techniques. A visit is worthwhile for artists as a source of inspiration and art lovers.
Great art space, chill out child friendly cafe with outdoors area and great coffee and food
I have not used the workshop facilities, so can only comment on the galleries, shop and cafe. The exhibits that I've seen in 2 shows have been disappointing and not to my taste. The shop is ok but I haven't found anything that I would buy. The cafe is very good and worth a visit in its own right. The old building is interesting and will soon be surrounded by a set of large scale developments that will fill in the current gap sites.
Lovely gallery and an art space. I took two whole day screen printing classes there (with instructor Gill) and it was wonderful!
I did a course in the old building, I am doing another in the fantastic new building. Teachers are great, they teach with great enthusiasm, are very competent and experienced. Thanks Toyobo teacher Lina, thank you screen printing teacher Catherine!
Superb place. Well worth a visit and join if you can!
Great coffee spot when it's sunny and a nice gallery space although quite wee. Lost a star for having run out of bread. But soup and cheesy scone hit the spot.
Brought my girlfriend here to see the print exhibition around Christmas time and found so much more than I was expecting! For its small size this place packs so much in. The exhibition space upstairs is fantastic, offering a cosy space to view some brilliant works of art. There is also a view of the workshop on the ground floor where classes and ongoing projects are held. The workshop looks very well equipped too should you be interested in any classes here. The shop is also very satisfying, featuring artwork and prints from local artists. It feels like another exhibition downstairs too. Felt very tempted to buy a few pieces.
Its a little too small to accommodate a cafe. However due to it's small size and proximity to any number of great coffee establishments, this is a feature that's not really missed.
Overall Its a great place to visit if your looking for an art gallery with something different to offer, and you can can get stuck in with courses too.
What a great building. Glad to see it being used. Some lovely work on display plus they offer the Own Art scheme - if there is something there you like you can pay it up over 10months. Fantastic. Nice cafe too.
Beautiful gifts and artwork, genuinely produced by local artists and designers. If you are a printmaker in Edinburgh there's also a studio at the back of the shop with printing facilities to use, or request for a screen to be made up.
Situated in a lovely old, newly restored building this new home of the Edinburgh Printmakers has two small but good gallery spaces, a good gift shop and a really nice looking cafe with outdoor seating.
I look forward to trying the menu!
Fantastic cafe, lots of great prints in shop, good exhibitions and at classes too.
I did the weekend screenprinting course here and found both the space and tuition excellent. The course includes all materials and a 3 month studio membership so you can continue to use the facilities. The cost of the course is money well spent as you'll come away with several prints and the skills to create many more.
Been a couple of times and like it. Easy going, quick dishes and tasty. Great for a quick lunch.
Great place for a brunch, a coffee and a relaxing place to chat
Reasonable assortment of prints. Prices on the high side. Nice cafe and resto. Open on Sundays.
In summer 2019 I took a guided tour which was really informative as we had a glance of history of the building itself and as well how it became the home for Edinburgh printmakers. So many presses, lithograph stones, really enjoyable tour for someone who fancies printmaking. And there is a nice cafe in there as well -)
Very cool space! Beautiful light to work in and a range of printmaking machines with people who care!
Fabulous place with great cafe and outside area. Soup was excellent
Did an "Introduction to printmaking" course here and Leena, our tutor, was great, letting us stay late to finish our work on the last day! There is an exhibition space upstairs which provides immense viewing pleasure (if the exhibition doesn't float your boat but you enjoy people-watching, head straight for the window overlooking the workshop in the second room!). There is plenty of work on display for the avid art-collector or interested amateur to buy as well as other merchandise such as books, cards and assorted knick knacks in the shop downstairs. Well worth a visit.
Lovely environment, friendly staff. Excellent toasted cheese sandwich.
Edinburgh Printmakers new home is a great place to spend an hour or two looking at the exhibitions and making purchases in the lovely shop.
The cafe has a good range of healthy snacks. You can have your lunch outside in the garden if the weather permits.
Amateur effort at running this place. We've travelled some distance to visit and been told that they don't have enough staff to allow us to look at the exhibition.
If you're not able to open in accordance with the times detailed online then please put a warning to people on your website that they should call first to see if you're actually OPEN.
Great exhibition, lovely prints and other souvenirs to purchase. Space is great.
Very interesting visit. Great to see the artists using the equipment. Well worth a visit.
Fantastic spot for lunch or to relax. The gallery is excellent but the cafe is the highlight - sunny, open and light with a great selection of cafe style food and drink. I had a good cheese melt and a superb chocolate brownie, I'll definitely visit again.
