Echoing Green is a non-profit organization that has been at the forefront of social entrepreneurship for over 30 years. The organization was founded in 1987 by global philanthropists, Richard Rockefeller and his wife Peggy Dulany, with the aim of identifying and supporting emerging social entrepreneurs who have innovative ideas to solve some of the world's most pressing problems.
The mission of Echoing Green is to find and invest in these visionary leaders who are committed to creating positive change in their communities. The organization provides seed funding, mentorship, and other resources to help these entrepreneurs turn their ideas into sustainable ventures that can make a real impact.
Over the years, Echoing Green has supported more than 800 social entrepreneurs from around the world. These individuals have gone on to create successful organizations that have tackled issues such as poverty alleviation, environmental sustainability, education reform, healthcare access, and more.
One of the unique aspects of Echoing Green's approach is its focus on investing deeply in both the idea and leadership potential of its fellows. The organization recognizes that it takes more than just a good idea to create lasting change - it also requires strong leadership skills and a deep commitment to one's vision.
To this end, Echoing Green provides its fellows with ongoing support through mentorship programs led by experienced business leaders and social entrepreneurs. Fellows also receive access to networking opportunities with other like-minded individuals who are working towards similar goals.
