Ec Drummond: A Legacy of Sustainable Farming in Herefordshire

Ec Drummond is a family-owned and operated farm located in the heart of Herefordshire, England. The Drummond family has been farming on this land since 1956, and over the years, they have established themselves as one of the most reputable and sustainable farms in the region.

With 90 hectares of mixed farming that includes potatoes, cereal crops, sheep, and cattle, Ec Drummond is committed to producing high-quality food while preserving the natural environment. The farm's philosophy is based on three core principles: sustainability, animal welfare, and community engagement.

Sustainability

At Ec Drummond, sustainability is at the heart of everything they do. They believe that farming should be done in a way that preserves natural resources for future generations. To achieve this goal, they use sustainable farming practices such as crop rotation to maintain soil health and reduce erosion.

The farm also uses renewable energy sources such as solar panels to power their operations. They have invested heavily in modern technology to ensure that their production processes are efficient while minimizing waste.

Animal Welfare

Ec Drummond takes animal welfare seriously. They believe that animals should be treated with respect and dignity throughout their lives. As such, all animals on the farm are raised under strict ethical standards.

The cattle are grass-fed for most of their lives before being finished on a diet rich in barley for maximum flavor. The sheep are free-range with plenty of space to roam around freely. All animals receive regular veterinary care from qualified professionals who ensure their health needs are met at all times.

Community Engagement

Ec Drummond understands that it takes more than just good farming practices to build a thriving community; it requires active engagement with local people too! That's why they regularly host events like open days where visitors can learn about sustainable agriculture practices or attend workshops on topics like beekeeping or composting.

They also work closely with local schools to educate children about the importance of sustainable farming and healthy eating. By engaging with the community, Ec Drummond hopes to inspire others to adopt sustainable practices in their own lives.

Conclusion

Ec Drummond is a shining example of what a sustainable farm should be. With its commitment to sustainability, animal welfare, and community engagement, it has become a beacon of hope for those who believe that farming can be done in a way that benefits both people and the planet.

If you're looking for high-quality food produced in an ethical and environmentally friendly way, look no further than Ec Drummond. Their legacy of sustainable farming is one that will continue for generations to come.
