I checked the DuPont page on Trustburn, and honestly, I wouldn’t rely on it. A lot of people say the site posts reviews that aren’t real and even lists companies without permission. Several businesses mentioned that the reviews don’t match any actual customers.
Awesome place we loved it there we spent five hours there and we saw everything there are three different tours two on the hour and one on the half hour one of the tours on the hour takes you an hour they also have a lot of cool dioramas some of them move they have a cafe there that serves good food...
The staff were all friendly and helpful. The tour guides all had a great attitude even in the horrible heat we had that day, and we enjoyed their quirky personality.
This place is wonderful! I grew up in NJ and didn't even know it was there. The staff are very knowledgeable and happy to tell you about everything. Great walking paths and lots of information. Got a membership so we can go again soon!
This place is historical gem. In addition to history, it has a regular science program for kids as well. It's also just beautiful. Love visiting with the fam a few times per year.
During the week is great to tour. Not crowded. Belin house cafe has wonderful food, great crab cakes, organic and vegan selections. Prices are inexpensive in my opinion. Tour guides are retired professionals, that can convey the rich history.
This place is great. We have the Brandywine valley passport and decided to stop by here on a Sunday afternoon. It wasn't crowded. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. There are many things to see. I highly recommend checking out the demonstrations.
Amazing place to start with learning history of Dupont family. Lot of fun. If you coming 3+ people or more than one time - grab membership. Make sure to visit different seasons.
From the moment we walked in the visitor center until we left, we had an awesome experience. Since it was a chance of rain all day, I believe that kept most people away and that was okay with us. We were the only ones on the van with the very well educated driver who personalized the tour as we went...
A must see when in the Wilmington area. A unique historic attraction with great tour guides. Enjoy nature and learn about the Du Pont's during the industrial revolution. See heavy machinery nearly 200 years old still operating. Great for all ages.
Great experience for kids and adults alike. Have been coming here for years and the staff are as friendly and helpful as ever. Only wish they tied their talks to the Delaware social studies standards language.
The Soda House at the Hagley Museum was the venue for our wedding reception. Heather was extremely helpful, friendly, and professional. The grounds are excellent for taking photos, and the tours they offer during museum hours are delightful. We even had a cannon demonstration prior to our reception,...
If you are in the Wilmington area, then make sure you drive past there. The entry is worthwhile in any case. Old powder mills from DuPont, many tours and live demonstrations, very impressive. I have rarely seen such a well maintained and organized facility as this one. Alone the park is a pleasure t...
Impressive bldgs & grounds. Sm buses ( with a/c!) shuttle you to mansion & grounds. All docents well versed & cordial. ($15adult/$11 senior).DuPont ruled the world for 100+yrs with gun & black powder production!
This was pretty boring especially for kids. As other reviews stated Guides are constantly telling kids don't do this don't do that. Even when kids are not doing anything. They seem anxious and stressed all the time... The entrance price $15 per person is also a little ridiculous we spend $60! Just t...
Surprising location with so many details and interesting tangents, one could easily spend more than a full day. Very serene setting, as well. Highly recommended.
Had an absolutely awesome time here. The guides and staff are so knowledgeable and friendly. This is the site of the first DuPont powderworks, and includes factory and residential pieces. The mansion and gardens are beautiful. The workshops, which still have working steam and river powered lathes,...
This place tells the history behind the production of "black powder" by the DuPont company, as well as the family behind it. Wonderful tours and beautiful property and gardens.
What a marvelous, unplanned discovery! Curiosity got me there, and the enjoyment of the experience will keep me going back for more. So much to see and learn about, all in the most peaceful environment.
My husband and I had so much fun coming to this park! It was $15 for admission, and there is a bus that will take you from site to site although you can easily walk the first half of it. We were initially let down because we thought it was going to be more of an arboretum/garden/free roaming place l...
Surprisingly interesting! More of a science museum than a history museum, which I wasn t expecting. Once you get into the main grounds, the applied science exhibits are fascinating. They bring many physics and chemistry concepts to life.
Really great museum to start the visit, beautiful walk alongside the river and superb attractions on route with guides that can't be faulted for their knowledge and friendliness. Certainly worth a visit, but plan on spending the next part of the day here to get the most out of it.
One of the top three at that top of my list of personal favorites for DuPont centric museums. DE has a 'passport' offer where you can go to many of the highlights found in the state, including this location. The house overlooks the areas where the river was harnessed to mill gunpower. There is so mu...
Spent a lot of time at Bagley and the DuPont grounds as a kid. Brought events from local history to life and made it interesting. Definitely worth taking the time to tour!!! Staff is both knowledgeable and friendly.
Hagley in and of itself has a nice historic presentation on industry on the Brandywine River. The docents do a great job with the visitors, especially school-age children. It's a pretty place for a walk along the river, too. However, the STEM event we lucked into was awesome. My granddaughters lo...
Working history museum, with extensive early industrial architecture. Loved seeing the working water turbine and it's connection to the metal shop. The ground are fascinating and we'll with a few hours walk about. The river is beautiful.
A wonderful place to learn about the age of water power, production of gun powder and machines in general. Can be lots of walking, although there is a small bus. If it's hot and humid, it can be miserable. The staff is friendly and helpful. Don't miss the exhibit on the first floor of the visito...
We found out about the yearly car show here and decided to make a day trip out of it. The car show was awsome, most all makes and models had representation The local museums that displayed cars had knowledgeable people present so any questions could be answered. A local contingent of British ca...
This is a unique place in the region, and one of my family's favorite places to come, in all seasons. Picturesque strolls, Science and engineering programs for the kids (and adults alike), the Fall Classic Car show, Fireworks, Gun Powder demonstrations, Summer Bike and Hike, and much more!
The DuPonts left the French Revolution to begin producing gun powder at the Hagley site. You can visit each stage of gun powder development. While this didn't sound very interesting to me, it turned out I was fascinated and stayed longer than planned. The site also has the DuPont mansion and worker ...
Definitely a must see if you're in Delaware. The original location of the DuPont gunpowder manufacturing facilities. The homes and gardens are very well maintained and manicured. It's not hard to easily spend 8-10 hours here with the older buildings and some of the original buildings. Nice view alon...
One of the best places to visit. It's nice to see the vintage collection and the history of the French family who came and settled down in the United states. I thoroughly enjoyed and appreciate the guide for taking time and explaining us in detail about the history of the Hagley.
A great tour. The tour guides were so detailed in their stories & I learned wonderful history about our country's early beginning & about the DuPont family. Wonderful place for families to visit. Loved it all. Will be back.
It's all about how Do Pont got his start. We had a beautiful day, I would not recommend a hot day, much walking, wear good shoes. Beautiful place to visit along side the river.
This museum is a working exibit which brings to life the mill and workshop this is unique to other museums for parents this will keep your children's attention
The people here are truly passionate about the place and their knowledge of the history is truly impressive. The tour guide was very very friendly and she was very knowledgeable. We will be going back in the Fall to see it at another time of year. The history of this site is really interesting and s...
