Coming from the ice coast, this small but beautiful mountain is a godsend and only a 30 minute drive from Vancouver. If you don't wanna pay ridiculous prices at Whistler and wait 45 minutes per lift ride, try Cypress! It's local, it's got good lodge food, and it definitely has powder.

Great little mountain just outside the city. Appears to be very poorly managed. Supervisor in the bar told us what we had ordered wasnt on the menu when it was clearly printed on there. The people next to us got ordered at the same time but got their food as we were leaving, it was cold. The car par...

As any ski hill with close proximity to a major metropolitan area, expect crowds and idiots. Not just big crowds, but massive, ignorant, self-absorbed, pylons which will unpredictably skid their way down all the runs. This makes for a great game of dodge the wobbly pylon when you are forced onto a...

Great mountain to learn to ski or snowboard with 2 really good green hills to use. And a nice sized bunny hill. I always love coming here. Had an issue with a mean old lady when I was getting my rentals, she just wasnt sure how to use her computer system and was getting frustrated at me. But other t...

For the distance from Vancouver and The about of terrain open at night this is a pretty good option for time and price. Get in early with a group and get a silver pass. Don't bother going on the super busy days. Too much standing around.

The largest of the local resorts and a host site of the Vancouver winter Olympics, Cypress has 3 main chair lifts, an on site cafe, restaurant and gear store, and a wide range of slopes for different abilities. While it doesn't have the same views of the city on a clear day and is noticably more exp...

Went to Cypress mountain for the first time to ski and had a blast! Staff is very friendly and the resort is very well maintained. Paid $180 for a full set of skis including helmet, skis, ski boots, poles, snow pants and the all day lift pass. Definitely recommend if you re a beginner like myself. I...

If you want to experience racism, come to this mountain.
I purchased 2 tickets in Feb 2018. I purchased one with a gold medal card and the other one out of pocket for my brother . My brother did not know how to put the pass properly around the metal bar that Clips into the jacket zipper and because...

Best snow on the north shore and decent runs. A little bit of everything and very close to town. A small mountain with a big mountain feel.

Have only ever had great experiences with staff. They even went above and beyond a few years ago when we found out we were expecting. Oops.
We have been goi...

I've been to Whistler and Grouse, and honestly ? This is WAY better than grouse and not that much worse than Whistler. It's an excellent place to learn snowboarding. If you get there on a blue-bird day, make sure to get the Lion's Express Lift, it will be the best view you will ever see from this mo...

It's my second try to come to Cypress this winter. I haven't been able to snowboard so far. Their system of "buying online to save" might be true for money, but definitely not for time. I am an early bird kind of person, and even arriving 10min before opening, there is only one booth that is open fo...

Breathtaking views! Loved hiking this mountain. Probably my favourite one I have hiked in Vancouver. Better than Grouse in my opinion. I think Grouse is overrated. Cypress Mountain isn't that hard to hike either, so you can enjoy your way up.

Walked the Black Mountain trail last evening to see the Wolf Moon. 7km loop to the bottom and totally manageable by reasonably fit hikers. We added another 3k just for fun. Recommend microspikes and poles, and hot chocolate for the top which is stunning! Totally worth the effort. Bring headlamps for...

Review regarding downhill ski/snowboarding. I'm an intermediate snowboarding (M-L terrain park structures, comfortable black diamonds) and Cypress is amazing compared to grouse/seymour. PROS: Much larger/more paths, daily coupons on website (half price Thursdays for students!). CONS: Grouse's "Cut" ...

I purchased snowboard lessons for my grandson December 2014. They cost me $250.00, there was no snow so they kept postponing the lessons until they finally cancelled them. And they won't refund my money. All they offer is Cypress dollars! I will spread the word to everyone not to buy any lessons on ...
