Got a new fan here. Very helpful and very friendly with an excellent selection. Got help fairly quickly, but not overbearing. When to a place called Southern Lighting first...basically had to beg someone for helped and they acted like I was annoying them. Creative Lighting is a winner and I will go back.

I bought the chandelier for my dining room and two pendant lights for my kitchen from them. Prices are a bit high but they have a good selection and a wide variety of styles to choose from, much more than any big box store. They always carry the latest trends and styles but unlike big box stores, they also carry very unique fixtures, if that's what you're looking for. And if you cant find something you like in the store they offer a large selection online to choose from as well. I found the staff to be both knowledgable and helpful. Overall I am pleased with the quality of the lights I purchased from them.

Went in during their sale - husband and I were planning on buying a lamp. Great selection and we found lamps we really liked, but the fact that the sales personnel kept looking at us and then deciding not to help us completely turned me off. They greeted everyone else in the store and asked if they needed help, but not us. Likely because we are a young couple in our late 20s/early 30s. Newsflash, creative lighting - young childless couples have more money to spend on lighting than you seem to assume. Age doesn't impact your chance of a sale - but obvious discrimination does. Won't be shopping here again. Too bad because I love supporting local businesses.

Awesome selection and very helpful sales staff - our consultant Michelle helped us get a unified theme throughout the house for our remodel and made great recommendations that we would not have found on our own.

As an Interior Designer, I know what styles I like and want for my clients, but I can't keep up with the ever changing technical side of Lighting. Michelle at Creative Lighting is my trusted go-to-gal for all my design projects. Michelle is extremely knowledgable about lighting industry standards, what's current, what doesn't work, ect.... But what Michelle is extraordinary at, is her quick response time and honesty. She is a dream sales person!

I was pleased with their selection of lights. There are twins that work there- Lucas and his brother. Lucas was my salesman. He had exceptional customer service skills and was very knowledgeable. A great guy to do business with.

meh. i stopped in at 10 min to close, just to have a look and everyone was rude/rushed me out of the place. i saw a few unique pieces but found the space difficult to shop and commanding too high a price. i did notice they offer design consultations. maybe that type of transaction is a more positive experience. large lot at front of building for parking.

We have been renovating our cabin to make it a permanent home for retirement. We put in all new lighting and I shopped quite a few lighting stores in St. Paul. Creative lighting was by far our best shopping experience. They have a great selection in all areas of home lighting. We worked with Adam Ohlgart and he was so knowledgeable about the many product lines they carried. He took the time to really get a feel for the type of home environment we were trying to create and what our personal tastes were. From this knowledge base he was able to make really helpful suggestions for us and minimize the overwhelming experience of having too many choices. Creative lighting had almost all of our selections in their on site warehouse so we didn't have to wait long to get our lights. They did order a ceiling fan for us that came in a few days. They also had to order the pendent lights we chose for the kitchen and they were recently discontinued. Adam contacted us immediately with suggestions of other lights in a similar style and price range making this a stress free situation.
We love our new lights, and the great service at Creative Lighting, and we truly appreciate Adam's patience and support in helping us make a lot of decisions about lighting our home.

We needed new bathroom fixtures and lighting for the front of our house. The sales staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. There was an excellent selection at the show room. When we had an issue with some of the halogen lightbulbs, I called for help. The staff was able to identify the problem and help fix it very quickly. I have been very happy with the service, selection and quality of the light fixtures. We would definitely return.

Brought in a lamp from Morocco. They were super helpful and friendly. Start here. Don t waste your time trying to order multiple lightbulbs- guessing incorrectly. Ask for help from the experts and they ll find a solution! Fair pricing. Excellent customer service.

Massive selection, great for ideas. Can get kind of pricey - definitely check online before you go in to understand if you're getting a good deal or not.

We have worked with Creative Lighting on several projects for our house over the years and they have been great to work with. The biggest benefit ultimately is the people - whether its having an expert to go too when trying to find the right lighting or having people to talk too who can help resolve an issue.

Also, its been really helpful that we can see so many of the lights first hand in a show room vs. trying to figure out from an image on a computer screen if a light is really going to be right for us. Pricing appears to be the same as online showrooms and its also been helpful in the middle of a project - if we need something they can ship it to us or we can drive and pick it up that day (vs. paying for shipping and waiting).

Finally, its just really great to have lighting professionals to talk too so we can figure out what's right for our home.

Selection and quality were great, and the after purchase care was truely exceptional. We had some lights in our new home construction that didn't quite look right. No problem. Super great service! I recently had a great experience at Creative Lighting. I visited the store several times and was always greeted and asked if I needed help with in minutes. Everyone seemed friendly and really customer driven. They had a great selection of cool looking fixtures.

I ordered a ceiling fan which arrived very quickly after it was ordered. When I went in to pick it up it turned out that the wrong model was ordered. They wanted to make it right and compensate me for the time I took to go and pick it up. Even though the model I originally ordered was suppose to be more expensive they only charged me the original quote.

I am very pleased with Creative Lighting and will recommend them to all my friends.

We are very happy with our numerous dealings with Creative lighting over the past 25 years. We used Creative Lighting for our whole house in 1989. Then last year we outfitted our condo with all new fixtures with the help of Lighting Designer Michelle Savageau. It all turned out great!

I arrived at the store and was greeted by a very friendly young Hispanic man. I was looking to buy for my first home and was excited about what you had to offer. Then some beastly woman w red hair started to berate this man and overspoke him. I found the situation was completely uncalled for. I just wanted to leave bc I felt so uncomfortable at that point. I asked for his card bc I wanted him to know that he was doing well. I didn t catch the name, but does it really matter at this point? VERY disappointed. You have beautiful fixtures. But then again so does IKEA...

My family has purchased a number of lights and worked with Michelle in particular on lighting design for our home--she's fabulous and it's a great store!

We recently moved into a condo and wanted to update the lighting. We worked with Michelle Savageau at Creative Lighting, who provided excellent customer service. She was able to assess our needs and helped us choose track lighting for our kitchen. Michelle's knowledge of available merchandise and her sense of design and style were a great combination to help us choose lights that fit our decor. I highly recommend Michelle and Creative Lighting!

We worked with Michelle (Anderson) Savageau when we were finishing our basement and needed fixtures. She listened to what we were looking for and helped us find, among other things, Tech "mini echo" pendants that are not only beautiful but also function perfectly in the space they occupy. She made helpful suggestions that we may not have thought of like adding dimmers to further enhance the ambiance of the space. Michelle's combination of knowledge, aesthetic sense and great customer service was what led us back to Creative lighting for a recent project. Once again Michelle helped us find just what we were looking for. She even expedited the shipping of a fixture we needed quickly and it arrived within 2 days of being ordered. There was a technical problem with one of the canopies we ordered for a low voltage fixture, but this was handled immediately with no expense and minimal aggravation on our part.
We realize that we could have ordered our fixtures online, but for us there is value in being able to see the actual fixture and not just a picture of it before paying good money for it. It also helps to have a relationship with someone who cares about what they are doing and the service they are providing when the occasional glitch occurs. We have been treated well by Creative Lighting and will be back.

Shopping for lights was fun and easy. There's so much that you realize you don't know about lighting once you get started with the process and I have David Johnson to thank for that! He made the step of redoing the lights in our new house a breeze. He is so kinda, warm and welcoming; very informative and guides you in the right way while breaking you out of the lighting shell I thought I knew enough about. My husband and I couldn't have upgraded our lights without Creative Lighting and David Johnson...or it would've just been a disaster, so glad we went to Creative Lighting and met with David!

We stopped in to look for a really obscure bulb for some puck lights, and customer service didn t miss a beat. In and out in 5 minutes with exactly what we needed.

My husband and I enjoyed working with Machelle at Creative. She was a great help in picking out new lighting for our townhome. We love the S-curve lighting and the great pendants we chose with it. We love our stairwell light in the soft amber glow. We have received many compliments.

We loved working with Michelle she is so knowledgeable about lighting and design. She was able to help us to pick out lighting for our new house that we love. We were so satisfied with the customer service. Michelle was super responsive, we always heard back from her quickly when we had questions or needed more information.We would highly recommend both Michelle and Creative lighting.

They don't actually carry many pieces in store, and the sales person was not particularly helpful. Told us she would call us the next day, and I had to call her three days later.

Helpful staff! I worked with Sepia and she spent a lot of time helping me and printing out spec sheets (in color!) so my partner and I could look at them together at home. They have a large showroom, but do not have an extensive collection of modern pieces.

They close quite early, so we didn't get to see much. But from what we did see they have a great selection.

The lighting options are beautiful, and they have some pretty creative lights on the floor. (Try not to hit your head as you wander the store. There are lights everywhere!) But the prices are crazy expensive. I've found comparable lights for less elsewhere. Good place for inspiration though.

This place seems to have a great selection of lighting. I was there to buy a ceiling fan, but I got totally ignored. No one even acknowledged I was there though they had plenty of time to talk socially with each other. If I'm going to get ignored, I might as well shop online. Too bad. Setting up my condo, I'm planning on buying multiple items.

I worked with Michelle Savageau to choose lighting for a new cabin. All she had to work with were some builder sketches (not blueprints). She was very thoughtful in terms of getting a feel for what the environment and interior were planned to be (for style) as well as our budget. She knew the product lines very well and was able to narrow down choices for met. She was also good at keeping me informed of sales for some of the other decor items that Creative Lighting has. She had very good follow-through and was always responsive to both my emails and phone calls.

Got our fans I love them cannot wIt to install them. Karen is a great sales rep and we bought a light for the bathroom, got a great price on clearance!

My wife and I worked with Michelle Savageau to design a track lighting system for our kitchen remodel. We have slightly vaulted ceilings and a unique layout. We also had a budget :) Michelle was incredibly responsive to our questions and concerns, worked within our budget, and overall was wonderful to work with. We would highly recommend Michelle and Creative Lighting.

Real expensive. If you don't look rich they don't bother helping. Everything seemed overprice.

Wow. really! I just walked the entire store looking for wall sconces, I saw 3 or 4 employees (including the front "welcome" desk person) and not one, not even one of them raised an eyebrow to my existence! not one person greeted me, said hi or asked me if I needed help! Unbelievably horrible customer service! I guess they didn't need to make a sale or earn my business. 1 star for customer service experience.

More selection than a big box store, but a lot of the same things repeated throughout the showroom. There's no sense of organization by light type. I was greeted immediately but it was so aggressive I just asked to be let window shop, yet she persisted. I went to find and buy something but the showroom was so badly organized and I couldn't tolerate another interaction that I left.

We worked with Adam to find a modern dining room light. He listened to what I liked about the different lights and found one that was perfect.

Creative Lighting has been my number 1 go to for lighting for my clients. I work with deadlines and budgets and Creative Lighting is always prompt and their knowledgeable staff is ready to help with all my questions. They make my job easier and help me give my clients a great experience.

This store is great. I do lighting design, on the sophisticared end, and they accomodate my requests, along with very competitive pricing. Specifically, the 'they' is Michelle Savageau and she is great,.

I'm very picky and have a busy schedule. Creative Lighting has great hours and staff who can work with your needs, whatever they may be. They even helped me custom order fan blades to match the woodwork in my home.

They have every lighting fixture under the heavens. If you can't find it here it doesn't exist.

We Bought some Light Fictures From here, they don't sell the home depot grade here. you will pay more but its well worth it!

Here is why you should make Creative Lighting your go-to:
1. You walk in and are greeted immediately AND most importantly, asked if you would like assistance from a lighting specialist/designer. THIS IS KEY AND DOES NOT HAPPEN IN OTHER LIGHTING SHOWROOMS!!
2. The designer/specialist works with you, gets to know the feel you are going for, helps you pick out lighting and makes suggestions.
3. The designer/specialist sits down with you, brings up lights on the big computer projection screen, goes through your picks plus others that may not be on the showroom, and prints out options for you.
4. There is no pressure to buy and every effort to make you feel comfortable with your lighting choices.

I hope all the designers/specialist here are as good as Jacob!!

We purchased lighting some 40 years ago and were very pleased. We now have need for several items and have returned and were greatly pleased to find the same great service and selection. Thank you Karena Monahan for helping us make decisions and your personalized service.

Very unnhappy with the service. I order lights and was told that they would be at the store in a week to ten days. Four weeks later I called to check on the status of the lights and was told they were on back order for several more weeks. No one called to tell me of this update, in fact, I was told just a few days ago the lights had shipped. By the time I get the lights it will have been 6 weeks.
Very unprofessional. They offered no discount and did not try to make it right. I could have gotten better service at Menards.

This local legacy establishment has been so fun and caring to every friend and family member that I ve heard of visiting them.... I m finally going for my own, a jellyfish pendant!

Michelle Savageau was absolutely wonderful to work with. Never have we been to a lighting store and received this much individual attention and expert guidance. My husband and I was shopping for lighting a year ago and stopped here. The gentleman, David Johnson who helped us was EXTREMELY helpful and patience! After we selected our lights he was in contact with me with updates until all our lights was received. Highly recommend David! They also price match also. Thank you David Johnson!!!

Huge selection of lights. If you don't see something on the showroom floor then ask a sales person because what you are looking for is in one of their catalogues and the can help narrow it down for you.

Jacob Hofer did a fantastic job advising us on the lighting for our kitchen remodel. He was knowledgeable, responsive, and diligent, and his suggestions were excellent.

Our sales associate Andja was great to work with. She spend time understanding our needs and assisting us with the selection of light fixtures for four areas of our home. She provided advice, ideas, and suggestions to help us select the best light fixture to complement our furnishing. Creative Lighting has a great selection and we were able to find just the right light fixtures for our rooms. We will definitely use Creative Lighting again.
