I have recently started taking the Planet Art classes with Margie Jervis, through Creative Cauldron, and love it!
Margie s style of teaching is very easy going and knowledgeable ! She really makes the classes so enjoyable!
We are exploring different festivals around the world, which I had never heard of before, making it very exciting, beautiful and uplifting! We then create images related to those festivals.
I have found the classes to be very inspiring in a time when we really need it. The classes are truly a highlight of my week! I hope everyone gets to sign up!
Cute little theater company tucked away in Falls Church, VA. Great talent and wonderful show.
Literally blown away by this little theater. I attended their musical production of Beauty and the Beast today. For a theater this size, I honestly was not expecting Too much. I wasn t sure about spending over $90 for our party of 4 thinking the show most likely would disappoint... I could not have been more wrong. After the first few minutes, I was pretty much in shock by the sheer talent of the cast. The vocals were exceptional and the production value exceeded every expectation. I would have paid twice what I d paid to see that show had I known it was going to be that impressive. I will certainly go to this little theater again as it is absolutely oozing with talent. I m so impressed! Keep up the good work!
I had a most delightful time at Creative Cauldron last night for their opening of the play "Crowns". The very intimate setting placed to me in the front row so I was actively involved with this very spiritual yet entertaining and very Lively production. I enjoyed all of it: the modern aspects, the take me back to that old religion aspect, and the bringing it all together of Old and New Traditions. It was truly empowering and suitable for any audience.
I've been immensely enjoying -- and being creatively challenged by -- the adult arts class called "Planet Art." Artist/Instructor Margie Jervis is sweeping us around the world to learn about arts festivals, and then showing us ways we can capture the festival spirit in our own art work. At a time when we can't travel, this class is bringing the world to us!
Creative Cauldron is a tucked away gem. The small, black box theater in a storefront location produces and presents first-rate, professional musical theater productions. They have offerings for everyone in the family -- it's a great place to introduce kids to live performances. And some of their productions and music performances make a perfect "date night" for adults. Check out the classes and workshops for kids, too.
The art class is amazing! I have attended lots of performances at Creative Cauldron, and knew about the children s classes. I signed up for an adult art class (via Zoom) and have been favorably impressed. The teacher, Margie, is very talented and does a good job instructing the class. If you are looking for a way to dip your toe into online class or art, this is it.
I started taking adult acting classes at Creative Cauldron early in the pandemic because doing so was almost effortless: I didn t have to leave the house because the classes were (and still are at the time of writing) online, and the first class was radio drama so no need to be visible for most of the class. The class was so much fun with a great group of fellow students, all under the gentle, nonjudgmental leadership of our instructor, Laura Hull.
I was hooked and segued into Adult Acting and Improv. I was initially terrified at the idea of improv, but because everyone is encouraging, it s just ended up being fun. We do a mix of short improv exercises and working on short scripts. A core of dedicated students has returned for every class, but we re friendly and welcome new faces.
If you ve always thought you wanted to act, were in a play in high school and have longed to do another since, or whatever, I d recommend giving this class a try.
