The Corvallis Knights: A Summer Collegiate Baseball Team

The Corvallis Knights are a summer collegiate, wood bat baseball team that has been entertaining fans for over two decades. The team is based in Corvallis, Oregon and plays its home games at the Goss Stadium on the campus of Oregon State University. The Knights are part of the West Coast League (WCL), which is a premier summer collegiate baseball league in North America.

History

The Corvallis Knights were founded in 1990 by Dan Segel and his wife Joanne. They started as an independent team playing against other local teams before joining the Pacific International League (PIL) in 1992. In 2007, they joined the WCL and have been a member ever since.

Over the years, the Knights have won numerous championships and awards. They have won six WCL championships (2008, 2011-2014, 2016) and four PIL championships (1995-1997, 2003). In addition to their success on the field, they have also been recognized for their community involvement and charitable work.

Players

The Corvallis Knights attract some of the best college players from around North America. These players come to play with wooden bats during their summer break from school to improve their skills and gain experience playing against top-level competition.

Many former Knights players have gone on to play professionally in Major League Baseball (MLB). Some notable alumni include Matt Duffy (San Francisco Giants), Kevin Pillar (Toronto Blue Jays), Marc Rzepczynski (Seattle Mariners), Drew Rasmussen (Tampa Bay Rays), Michael Conforto (New York Mets) among others.

Fan Experience

Watching a game at Goss Stadium is an unforgettable experience for any baseball fan. The stadium has undergone several renovations over recent years making it one of the best facilities in college baseball today.

Fans can enjoy great views of both downtown Corvallis as well as Mary's Peak while watching exciting baseball action on one of two video boards located within Goss Stadium. There are plenty of food options available including hot dogs, burgers, pizza among others along with beer gardens serving local craft beers from around Oregon.

In addition to regular season games played between June through August each year; there are also special events such as fireworks nights or themed nights like Star Wars Night or Harry Potter Night that add even more excitement to attending a game at Goss Stadium!
