About Concussion legacy foundation

The Concussion Legacy Foundation is committed to supporting athletes, Veterans and all affected by concussions and CTE through research, policy and education.

The Concussion Legacy Foundation: A Commitment to Supporting Athletes, Veterans, and All Affected by Concussions and CTE

Concussions are a serious issue that affects millions of people every year. Whether it's athletes who suffer from repeated head injuries or veterans who have experienced traumatic brain injuries during their service, the impact of concussions can be devastating. That's where the Concussion Legacy Foundation comes in.

Founded in 2007 by former NFL player Chris Nowinski and Dr. Robert Cantu, the Concussion Legacy Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting those affected by concussions and chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) through research, policy, and education.

Research

One of the primary goals of the Concussion Legacy Foundation is to advance scientific understanding of concussions and CTE. The foundation funds research projects that investigate the causes, effects, prevention strategies for these conditions.

Through its partnership with Boston University's CTE Center, which houses one of the largest brain banks in the world dedicated to studying CTE pathology in athletes and military veterans' brains after death. The foundation has been able to make significant contributions towards understanding how concussions affect individuals over time.

Policy

In addition to funding research projects on concussion-related issues like sports safety equipment development or helmet technology advancements for football players at all levels (youth through professional), CLF also works closely with policymakers at all levels - local governments up through federal agencies - advocating for policies that promote safer sports practices while also protecting athletes' rights.

Education

The third pillar of CLF's mission is education. The foundation provides resources for coaches, parents/guardians/teachers/students/athletes themselves about concussion awareness/prevention/treatment/recovery strategies as well as information about how they can get involved with advocacy efforts around this issue locally or nationally if desired.

CLF has developed several educational programs aimed at raising awareness about concussion-related issues among different groups such as high school students/athletes/coaches; college/university athletic departments; military personnel/veterans/families; healthcare professionals working with patients recovering from TBI/concussion symptoms etc., including online courses available free-of-charge via their website or social media channels like YouTube/Facebook/Twitter etc..

Conclusion:

In conclusion, if you're looking for an organization committed to supporting those affected by concussions and CTE through research policy education then look no further than The Concussion Legacy Foundation! With its focus on advancing scientific understanding while advocating for safer sports practices/policies alongside providing educational resources across various demographics nationwide – there really isn't anyone better equipped than CLF when it comes down tackling this critical public health issue head-on!
