College Match LA: Helping Low-Income Students Achieve Their Dreams
College Match LA is a non-profit organization that has been helping low-income students in Los Angeles achieve their dreams of attending and graduating from top colleges and universities for over 15 years. Every year, the organization helps nearly 600 talented students from low-income families get into and graduate from some of the best schools in the country.
The mission of College Match LA is to provide comprehensive college counseling, academic support, and financial aid assistance to high-achieving students who might not otherwise have access to these resources. The organization believes that every student deserves an equal opportunity to succeed regardless of their background or financial situation.
One of the unique aspects of College Match LA is its focus on matching each student with a college that is the right fit for them academically, socially, and financially. The organization takes a holistic approach to college counseling by considering factors such as a student's interests, personality, learning style, and family situation when recommending schools.
In addition to providing one-on-one counseling services, College Match LA also offers workshops on topics such as essay writing, standardized test preparation, financial aid applications, and college interviews.
