COJECO (Council of Jewish รmigrรฉ Community Organizations) is a non-profit organization that serves as the central coordinating body of the Russian-speaking Jewish community in New York. Founded in 2001, COJECO aims to empower and unite this vibrant community by providing resources, programs, and services that promote education, culture, leadership development, and social action.
With over 300 member organizations representing more than 100,000 individuals from diverse backgrounds and generations, COJECO plays a crucial role in preserving and enhancing the rich heritage of Russian-speaking Jews while fostering their integration into American society. Whether you are a newcomer or a long-time resident of New York City, COJECO offers something for everyone.
Education
One of COJECO's primary goals is to provide educational opportunities that enable members of the Russian-speaking Jewish community to acquire knowledge and skills that will help them succeed academically and professionally. To this end, COJECO offers various programs such as scholarships for college students; grants for educators; Hebrew language classes; workshops on entrepreneurship, technology, finance; mentorship programs; internships with leading companies; career fairs; job placement assistance.
