Look, everyone writes rave reviews about this place but do you understand that IT IS TRULY AMAZING? The warm but sophisticated old world charm of the decor is subterfuge. The staff is enthusiastically amicable without being ingratiating so when the selections start to appear at your table you re...
Service here is excellent, from the coat check at the beginning, straight to the end of the meal.
We had the dourada and the skate, both of which were excellent. The servers recommended good wines to go with the fish and at $8 for a healthy pour, they were a good value.
Everything was top notch. Ignore all the sub 4 star reviews. It's great. The food was the best part. A true 5 star experience. Thank-you for the lovely dinner.
Got a gift card from one of my clients some months back, and my girlfriend was flying out. I wanted something different for a change of pace and we kind of just settled on here.
Although, immediately after looking at the menu, they did something that caught my attention. " Catch of the day" a lar...
We decided going there to celebrate a birthday. The place is very well decorated and with great charm. The staff was very warm and inviting, and the food was prepared to perfection. We can't stop praising the whole experience. Thanks to the staff and the chef for making us welcome. Can't wait to go ...
Wonderful dinner! Welcoming ambience, super delicious food, great selection of wine, very attentive service! 5 stars place! Highly recommended this restaurant. Very much impressed!
Simply fantastic. Top quality from start to finish. Easily the best seafood spot in Toronto. Quaint and understated restaurant but the selection of plates is intoxicating. Knowledgeable waiters and efficient staff. Valet service is nice. Bottom line, a must-go to place in Toronto. Will be ret...
The great food experience is only made possible when coupled with great service. At Chiado, they nail it. The food and service is on another level and the prices are in line with a restaurant of this calibre. You can spend way more for way less in Toronto these days.
Nice place, the decor was fine nothing super-special. Food was fine again nothing super special for the price that your paying. Service was fine; there was no wow factor. Nice enough place but wouldn't go back. Found it quite pricey for what you get.
Celebrated my mom's birthday here and had a fantastic experience. I loved their paintings! The restaurant felt authentically Portuguese.
The wines were tremendous, our waiter was awesome and fun. The main entries were delicious, the seafood were cooked correctly and their sauces were really good....
This restaurant remains my favourite year after year. We have been going since the 90s and still go on a regular basis. The food is Portuguese and being a Portuguese restaurant - the menu is sea food focused with the fish sourced from Portugal. The desert list contains Molotov - a desert my husband'...
It was my first visit. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable. The grilled squid, goat cheese, and chocolate mousse were delicious. However, the quail was incredibly dry and the molotof was too sweet for our taste.
I came here for the Winterlicious lunch service and the service was excellent, from coat check to exit. We were first served bread and olive oil as an appetizer, and the quality of all three were excellent. Then we were served our main courses: pan seared skate fish and squid. The pan sear skate fi...
Probably the best presentation of fish I have seen in a Toronto restaurant. The staff was super professional, courteous and knew their fish! Make sure to have the lobster risotto. To die for.
Went to Seattle many years ago for a family function and was so impressed with everything from the bread to the steak to of course the seafood. I can see that nothing has changed with this fantastic Portuguese restaurant. Will be back very soon!
Divine seafood, incredible wines, a gourmet menu, impeccable service, and a refined ambience make this unique restaurant absolutely one of the best places to eat in Toronto. Easily one of the best places to eat in North America, with a taste and style you'll find nowhere else.
Very good food and great service. Went with my partner for lunch during Winterlicious. Beautiful ambience, great quality of service from all the front of the house staff. Toronto has a lot of good food places - but this is truely one of those gems that you shy at least once
Excellent service and the quality of the food is outstanding. The only negative is the price. $20 wine is $60 and although the food is delicious, it's simple well done dishes. Would be a total hit if not for the extreme markup on every item.
I have been wanting to visit this restaurant for ages and finally got the opportunity. I am so upset I never made it sooner. The service was spectacular and the food was equally amazing. I had the duck that was perfectly cooked and melted in my mouth. I am writing this review and salivating. Now I h...
Had the Squid Entree and the lobster risotto. Everything was pretty good and they kept me filled up with olives and goats cheese aperitifs. Only thing I wasn't a fan of is the imported water. Seriously water is water and I don't need a carbon footprint the size of the iron giants on it.
You can buy the same simple food at any Portuguese take out place at a fraction of the price? Portuguese food is simple not expensive to make...it s the flavor...not the price! atmosphere looks expensive to charge more for the food!
I never been to a Portuguese restaurant and wanted to try it. We went in a group of 10, each one had a different dish and everything looked delicious. I had fish with risotto and it was one of the best fish I ever tried. Sobremesa was amazing as well.
Everything was perfect from the service at the door to the food and wine. Everyone in our group could not comment enough on how great the food was, I have experienced many 5 star restaurants and this was superb! Everyone agreed it was the best seafood that they have ever had and presentation was per...
An interesting place. The food is quite good. I always prefer good quality of wine. & This place serves the best. The staff are professional. The service is quite extraordinary.
Wonderful experience. Very pleasant interior. The staff is polite, professional, warm but not over bearing. The waiter's knowledge of the menu and the presentation of the catch of the day was well done. The appetizers were nicely presented. The creme brulee was excellent (a big fan). The selection ...
Service and food was great but when we first walked in the host did not exchange any eye contact or words for a while. It was very very strange and thus didn't feel welcomed. I wouldn't go back.
Great dining experience overall. Service is prompt but not in your face. You have to get reservations as it gets really busy at lunch time. Great selection of wines as well.
Phenomenal food and amazing staff. We went there for a family dinner and had such a wonderful time. The atmosphere is very cozy and very intimate. I would recommend to at least check it out once. We ordered chef's special of the day which was assortment of three different fish dishes, and we also o...
I love goat cheese so I was really happy about this! Overall, the service was very professional and attentive. Lastly, we both decided to go for dessert. I ordered a poached pear while my girlfriend got the creme brulee. I really liked the cook of the pear and the flavours of cinnamon and saffro...
This place is exceptional!!! The food is amazing the service is awesome and the restaurant is gorerous!!! So this is must to try when visiting dirty Toronto !!
We have been to Chiado several times over the last decade and have always found the food and service to be top notch. We were visiting from Chicago and although the service was great the meal pacing was off and monk fish entree was ruined by being smothered in a mustard flavored sauce. We were very ...
Fine dining at its best. Lovely attention to detail they have social distancing of tables. Great wine by the glass & we started with grilled eggplant portobello mushrooms quince delicious. I had the grilled octopus amazing so tender. I had the chocolate mouse cake with sponge toffee inside heavenly....
Absolutely amazing! Our winterlicious dinner here was one of the best meals I have had in Toronto. The grilled squid was simply but perfectly prepared. The duck confit was rich, flavourful, and well balanced the crispy skin was a perfect counterpoint to the lux meat. The molotof (Portuguese mering...
Atmosphere and service was great! But the food was way too overpriced! $40-50 for a main course is way too high and the food was not exceptional nor memorable for the price range they demand! I have had lovely and memorable experiences in other restaurants which are more reasonable and the food is m...
After an epic fail following trip advisors top rated listings. (I think due to the fact the reviews are bloated by pretentious millenials that have never cooked a quality meal themselves) found this gem outside little Italy. Extravagant wine selection. Authentic service. Out of this world eats. Af...
Absolutely delicious. Fabulous service, nice cozy, upscale atmosphere without being pretentious and really excellent food. What more could you ask for? The grilled octopus was totally incredible, the fish stew was great and the mushroom-crusted Alaskan was fantastic. Dessert was great too. Loved all...
Winterlicious food menu was delicious. My wife and I loved every part of the meal! The best thing was the service, never had such great service at a restaurant before..it makes all the difference
