CFP Board was founded in 1985 as a professional regulatory organization for financial planners. At that time, there were no uniform standards or qualifications required to call oneself a "financial planner." To address these issues, CFP Board created a set of education, examination, experience, ethics, and continuing education requirements that must be met by anyone seeking to become a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional. These requirements ensure that individuals who hold this designation have demonstrated their competence in all areas of financial planning.
Our Standards
The CFP® certification process involves meeting strict requirements in five key areas:
1. Education: Candidates must complete an approved educational program covering all aspects of financial planning.
2. Examination: Candidates must pass a comprehensive exam covering topics such as investment planning, retirement planning, tax planning, estate planning, insurance planning.
3. Experience: Candidates must have at least three years of relevant work experience before they can become certified.

5.Continuing Education : Once certified , they need 30 hours every two years on ongoing basis .
