Very nice place. Cafe in the basement is not as nice and overpriced considering the already not so small admission. Food looks average at best.

I've been a few times to see the castle and two years in a row for the Halloween event. I found that the previous year was a bit better because it was more scary. This year was more family oriented. It was still a good date night and they switched it up from the previous year which was nice.

Great place to spend a day if you like history. But some areas are pretty run down.

I used to like it, it is a beautiful castle! But lately they have being changing it into a business place, closing rooms, relocating others, and even making a "restaurant" inside. This is a historical house, they should keep it original!

A castle in the middle of a new world city. It is a good example of the many architectural elements used for the wealthy at the turn of and beginning of the 20th century in one building. It also serves as a small museum for one of the prominent members of Toronto at the time - Pellatt was an entrepreneur, investor and builder who took on too much and made too few friends. Against his history is the backdrop of a developing city and sense of nation.

This castle is okay...its more comparable to a really old moderate size home. For its age I had expected it to be more Grand. Definitely not worth Henry losing his fortune over. My fiance went to Scotland and she said this home is derivative of the queens palace. For Toronto this is okay as a venue but the rooms can be but drafty when it gets windy. They need to upgrade the windows to be more energy efficient and they need restain the hardwood. It seems a bit new money for my taste.

Attended a wedding last August 2016 and it was held in the Conservatory. No proper soundsystem so guests could hardly hear the wedding ceremony proceedings. Venue itself is beautiful. Went here at another time to tour the place. Kids loved the swimming pool-turned theatre which showed the Casa Loma history. Able to climb up one of the towers. Quite eerie but was quite fun. Downstairs restaurant was decent.

Very very cool museum but I was sad to see that whoever organized the place didn't know what they were doing. I wanted to learn more about the man and how it was built not random ww1 Canadian stuff. They have morphed this great home into a museum not about the great castle that it is! I very much enjoyed looking at all the details, also be warned it can be very hot....... They need to install ac units with the double hoses not single.

The decor is rather dated. Food is pretty good. 4 stars.

A very interesting castle, with a lot of rooms and stories and secret passages. Pass by the gift shop you'll find nice souvenirs.

The castle is beautiful but way overpriced. Can t bring any drinks/food with you so that you ll go to their cafe and spend extraordinary amount for drinks. I went to get an orange juice and the girl told me that for the freshly squeezed I ll have to finish it inside the store and can t get it with me which is ridiculous. Also not all rooms are air conditioned. I went to some rooms and they were nice and cool while some others were extremely hot. Using the elevator is another hassle over there as it can only be used by the staff which makes it inconvenient for the people as those who have strollers/wheelchairs have to wait for someone to assist them. They charge a lot and they should make things easier for the people. The best deal is to get the pass which is cheaper and you can visit other places too.

Fantastic place! Still can't believe this is an actual castle.

It's a beautiful castle with a beautiful and sad history. Walk the tunnels, climb the towers and soak in real life history of the largest lived in Castle in North America.

Perhaps the most amazing place we have ever visited !! Unbelievable the beauty of the place, I want to go back

Took the family here last year winter time, my little girls were in love with the place.

Wasn't planning on coming here originally, but the CityPass has this as part of it so we decided to check it out. It's a beautiful structure and the interior is very well preserved. Parking does cost money, but we were able to find a spot. You can grab an audio guide once you go inside and it definitely makes the experience more interesting with the knowledge you can pick up. There is a small military museum on the top for that's interesting, but that's not really the main focus of this location. Lots of people so it was fairly crowded, but it wasn't an issue and once you left the main entrance area, the people thin out. I personally think admission is a little high for a standalone visit but CityPass makes it definitely better value.

Great place to learn more about the history of Toronto

The Place is Huge! Garden is also fairly big! A the top of the tower you have a nice view. Many rooms to discover inside!

While the venue is gorgeous on the outside, it s eery and old on the outside.

Beautiful venue for any event from wedding to conference banquet.

Fun exciting entertaining wouldn't book my wedding there we could just a very expensive but other than that great for a day out love the Halloween time love the Christmas time and love the Summers there

A nice old mansion. Can get unpleasantly crowded at times. A bit expensive.

There are some places you can leave for an upcoming opportunity, which is definitely not the case at Casa Loma. It was hours inside the castle, countless rooms to meet, very cool secret passages, corridors that not only look like a movie scene, but which they are. You will surely recognize some famous movies that were recorded there, such as X-Men for example. A place full of history that can not be missed. It has a device that you can use to listen to the story or curious facts of the whole house in several languages, including Portuguese.

Kinda lame. Overpriced and overcrowded, considering there's not much to see as it's pretty empty and (subjectively) tasteless. I'd go to Spadina museum instead as it's cheaper and more interesting.

beautiful place and a very good call for architecture amateurs. wonderful gardens and amazing view of the city. definitely worth the visit.

Beautiful place, lots of histori, you need to take the full day to get to see it completely.

You will end up spending a whole day there we saw where they made X-Men movie at plus a whole lot more

Excellent views of the city, great grounds to walk around and an amazing structure to see. Great tours as well as secret pathways you can spend all day here!!

Kids loved being able to climb into the turrets at the top.

A must see! Amazing history between these four walls. A lot to see, a gift shop. Restaurant, movie and a very interesting tunnel.

Visited in 2017

First thought was that the castle is beautiful! Amazing craftsmanship.
I started the visit from the top to make my way to the bottom.

A few things to mention:
-If there are lots of people it will get hot and crowded in the rooms, there are fans and some mild air conditioning but it''s very minimal.
-The highest tower is closed at the moment, the second highest tower is accessible by the third floor but there is a lineup, wait till almost closing time.
-There is minimal seating so if you have kids make sure they can walk.

Sadly, we got there around 3:45pm and since they close at 5pm we had to skip the gardens and most of the panels explaining the history of the castle.

Apart from that I really enjoyed the library room (it looked straight out of a Disney Movie) and the view from the tower.

The underground tunnels were also very creepy and goosebump inducing. I recommend those a lot. Especially because they lead to the stables and garage areas (sadly no horses but they do have old timey cars)

If you make it to the gift shop you will find some truly bizarre items. What does a mini lava lamp have to do with a castle?? Nothing, but I bought it anyway!

If you buy the City pass, check it out for fun. But otherwise I think you can pass on this if you aren't a big history buff.

Beautiful outside, didn't go in (was there for an escape room - we thought it was inside but they changed our booking)

The architecture of this place is stunning and the entire district is very elegant. My personal highlight was the beautiful garden. The views of Toronto on this little hill are stunning. However, the price of admission is definitely exaggerated.

Lovely historic Casa Loma. Wandered round for 3 hours. Beautiful. Do the audio tour, so interesting.

Ate at blueblood... 2nd best meal I have ever had in a restaurant

The inside of the castle is so interesting with the secret passages. Lots of events in the summer evenings too like concerts in the garden and escape room.

Fascinating place. Also an amazing number of movies shot at this location.

I was on a tour to see Niagra Falls however other interesting places were available. This beautiful place was one. This is a castle that has been maintained. The furniture is authentic but the lighting and painting are beautiful. This is worth seeing.

Appreciate the efforts taken to preserve the antiques. Its a one time visit for a family. There are occasional shows that go on and guests that visit the place. Really nice to see the movies I have watched to have been shot there.

beautiful castle, casa loma is a place that impresses thats for sure, GREAT experience with friends and family, they have a restaurant in the basement and during the fall they run a scary theme called screamers which i found a great change from wonderlands open theme option. Tourist should check this place out for sure

Absolutely beautiful! It's nice that the entire place is open for you to explore. The gardens are so peaceful.

Did the "King of the Bootleggers" escape room and it was 10/10 awesome! Would recommend to anyone up for a challenge and some fun!

Nice place to spend the day and see the only castle in Toronto.

Casa Loma was okay, nice on the inside and the outside but, I wasn't really impressed, it was just furniture, and living/dining room settings.

Every time I go there, I fall more in love with this amazing mysterious castle! If you have only one day, or night, in Toronto, one of must-sees is definitely Casa Loma! And don t forget it s incredible steakhouse : Blueblood!

Haunted house was well done although they packed in too many people.

The place is very beautiful. The place is very crowded so if you want to enjoy more it is better to arrive early to pick up the spoken guide and not have to stand in line waiting.

An amazing display of engineering in the early 1900 s. Make sure to go through the tunnel and appreciate the collection of antique cars. This palace also has a significant role to play in WWII.

Casa Romano
On the hillside of Austin Terrace, north of downtown Toronto, Canada, stands an elegant and magnificent castle, Casa Romana, which was once the richest man in Canada in the early 20th century, Henry Mill Burr. Private house of Sir Henry Mill Pellatt. It is now a famous Canadian architectural and tourist attraction.

Unlike other tourist destinations, it is far too far alone. You can rent a machine that translates everything from basement to roof into Korean. It is really detailed. At least two and a half hours .. you can have a beer or a meal in there and Tim Horton near the bus stop. It's a bit hot.

One of the highlights of Toronto. The place is huge and narrated tour boxes are included in the price of admission. One floor is a milliary museum.

Love this place, so much history and mystery here. I find and learn something new with each visit

Great historic place. Lots of walking. Only real downside is you have to pay for parking, which nothing tells you about.
Overall if in/near Toronto, Ontario, Canada buy the city pass and go here!!
