Cargo Bike Life

I’ve been using the Cargo Bike Life trailer for my weekly grocery trips for a few months, and it’s been a fantastic addition to my routine. Setup is a breeze thanks to the simple hitch that attaches to the rear axle, and it doesn’t get in the way of my existing rear rack at all. The cargo area is spacious enough for two people’s worth of shopping for a couple of weeks, and it handles heavy items like water jugs without issue. The floor is made of heavy-duty fabric, which feels sturdy, though I did add a piece of foam from a camping mat as a liner just to be safe and prevent wear and tear from rough items. It rides smoothly and feels very stable on the road. Plus, it’s incredibly lightweight when empty and a cinch to store away.

After a year of ownership and roughly 1,000 kilometers, the Cargo Bike Life Multitinker has proven to be a highly reliable daily companion. The design is thoroughly considered, offering versatile accessories that are easy to share between riders and thoughtful touches like the dedicated chain cubby. While the Bosch connectivity module is a great addition for peace of mind, it does require purchasing an additional motor cover since the standard one doesn't fit. This e-bike is built like a tank. It effortlessly handles everything from carrying two adults and two kids to hauling large loads of groceries. The belt drive is excellent, requiring minimal maintenance. For city security, it’s slightly trickier to secure with a standard U-lock compared to the Tern GSD, but we manage by locking through the rear rack and using a secondary chain lock. The newer Bosch system feels superior to what is currently on the GSD. My only minor wish is that it were easier to prop up for winter storage, similar to the GSD. Ultimately, while functionally similar to the GSD, the Cargo Bike Life version offers better build quality and a more premium feel, making it an excellent choice.
