Capri Theatre

Fantastic venue been going there for the past 50 years. The Organ playing is a excellent addiction to all the great movies. Once you walk into the cinema it takes you back to the good old fashioned days, excellent staff and facilities .Bring on the next great movie "BATHING BEATIE " with Esther Williams and Red Skelton

Has to be my favourite cinemas, one of Adelaide's lovely art deco theatres that isn't a shoebox with curtains, like the modern ones. If only I didn't live so far away, I'd be going far more often. The only cinema left in SA with a real theatre organ, and I've even had a go on it (they have occasional training sessions where musicians can learn to play it, and members can book practice sessions).

Regularly does school holiday sessions, 1 adult and 3 kids for $25 plus cheap popcorn.

Despite inadiquite parking, this place is full of 50s charm and a great dedicated staff with are all volunteers. A great location to take either your parents or friends dressed in 1950 period clothing. With a bus stop just outside the venue, there should. Be no difficulties catching a bus to this gem of a location.

Whilst nostalgia is appealing, the Capri needs updating to bring it up to its formal 'Art Deco' glory.

Amazingly beautiful, impeccable old theatre that must never be let go. Wonderful new and old movies, plus special event ones as well. A must go and experience!!

The staff are always wonderful, the atmosphere is magical, the prices incredibly affordable. This is my favorite cinema in Adelaide.

A lovely old art deco theatre. The seats are not as comfy as our modern day theatres. Always a special theatre to visit and see a movie. The staff are friendly and mostly volunteers.

Beautiful historic theatre.
It doesn't have any of the latest sound and projection technology or the most comfortable seats but it has a fantastic atmosphere and is still of a good quality.

Went to a viewing of Bohemian Rhapsody, sing along version, and it was FANTASTIC!!!! What a gorgeous, wonderful unique theatre the Capri Theatre is. The organ there and the size of all the piping is phenomenal and spectacular.... standing ovation to all the volunteers and whoever does do the work there. Made a great background for the movie, which as well was so worth watching and singing to it was a lot of fun. Thank you very much to you all

Missed the start of the movie but that was because I had difficulty getting parking. Just be prepared and go earlier. Nice old fashioned theatre.

Beautiful old theatre with great Staff who are dressed old school. Had never been here before, we had a fundraiser, and the organ wow! It all seemed rather pricey particularly the candy bar, but I'd pay it for the service and quality u get as apposed to other places. Took a star off coz parking was a nuisance tho

Beautiful. It's like stepping back into the 50's, with chrome plating, popcorn butter, greasers, Fedoras (m'lady) and hysterical broads you're allowed to slap.

Great historical theatre. Awesome to visit if you want to step back in time. Volunteers have done a fantastic job.

Good prices, cool to see the older style cinema. Seem to remember it didnt have a lift? (I jad an injury at the time and hobbled up the stairs)

A beautiful cinema that takes you right back to the Art Deco period. The organ player has always been lovely to listen to before a movie screening as well.

My friends and I had a wonderful afternoon at the Capri it was organised by the City of Unley. We had an organ recital and as always at the Capri it was all excellent

Love the retro feel of the place. Makes you feel like you took a step back in time. Kids love coming here too.

What a great place to experience movie-going of old. Organ player before the movie was great. It was fun finding all the instruments being played in the see through panels. Movie was great too. Only thing missing to complete the old-school experience is the candy bar sales in-cinema.

Great value, fantastic atmosphere with refurbished Art Deco and a terrific pipe organ which is played before evening screenings on Tuesdays, Fridays & Saturdays.

Great antique theatre. Lovely for date nights and not too pricey.

Being the only (good) place with regular screenings of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, I can decipher that this place is one of, if not the best cinema in Adelaide

A theatre organ concert at the Capri is a spectacular afternoon of musical entertainment not to be missed. The Wurlitzer organ is an amazing instrument like unto a miniature orchestra, capable of creating all sorts of sounds and playing an incredible variety of music genres. It's on for young and old. It will definitely bring a smile to your face.

If you haven't been here at least once, you should go. The introductions to the movies with the big organ/musical instruments is a fun alternative to a normal cinema experience.

Fantastic. Like stepping back in time. Great original decor. Most comfortable lounge like chairs upstairs and back row downstairs. Wurlitzer organ came out of the stage being played before movie. Great movies. Check it out.

Charming suburban cinema. Seats and screen were OK, but the sound system isn't on the same level as the megaplexes.

The most beautiful cinema in Adelaide to see a film. Lovely staff, great drink options, very clean, gorgeous deco stylings and great prices. The volunteers do such an amazing job here. It is our favourite cinema and we are so lucky to have it in Goodwood.

We love this place, if you manage to get there on a time the organ is being played it most definitely makes it an extra treat. Is there anywhere in Adelaide that you can get a nice glass of wine, some quality haigs chocolate and bring the kids without feeling like you are going to disrupt other patrons, the customer service is so super friendly not to mention chatty and all around helpful! Great place for visitors as well, we always bring our interstate guest along for a rare treat. No where else like it.

I love this old theatre that has been kept on good condition and love the organ playing before the movies when they do that. There are quite a few stairs to go up if you want to go to the upstairs seating area.

Best cinema and service in adelaide. The huge screen, the organ, the nostalgic decor...I could go on and on. Go there every school holidays with family. Great prices on cudo.
