A weekend in Caravan Basic 6 pp at the end of April. seated (is actually suitable for 4 pp). Caravan is a bit dated, but was clean.
Small-scale campsite with hospitable owners.
They are busy refurbishing, including. a new swimming pool.
You have 2 areas, 1 with camping spots and the more luxurious mobile homes and nice playing field and 1 part with the cheaper mobile homes, there are also many fixed annual spots through, which makes the appearance somewhat messy and looks not cozy. Caravans are arranged in a row, which means that you overlook the next caravan and there is little room for the children to play. Would definitely choose the other part next time. Small affordable restaurant / cafeteria with various beers. Whole can use a makeover, it did not look so cozy. Excellent bread service with plenty of choice.
Take warm blankets, especially in the early and late season it can be very cold in the Ardennes, there is a gas heater that worked great, but can not heat the bedrooms. Caravan is not insulated.
We had a great stay, maybe we'll come back someday when everything is ready. Beautiful area and plenty to do.

From the campsite you immediately drive up the Vennbahn, a fantastic bike path from where you can also deviate to the ravel roads. You will receive a very warm welcome at the campsite and there are beautiful camper pitches, cool tents and cottages for rent. Good for a wonderful holiday.

Very welcoming beautiful campsite with friendly and pleasant staff. Located in a beautiful area where you can do everything and look beautiful. We have had 5 wonderful days here and will certainly return as we have not been able to see and do everything around the campsite. Due to the huge range of sights and activities in the area

Small-scale and expensive for what there is.
We had a 'basic luxury' caravan. There was not much luxury. Past glory from a distant past, those caravans are in urgent need of replacement. In the chilly August nights it looks like you're in a tent, so cold inside.
After 3 days we moved on to another camp site where we had a virtually new caravan with insulation for almost the same price.
The camping is suitable as a full camping with a tent. The sanitary building is very neat.
The new swimming pool is nice but it is a pity that there is no small slide for the children and it should also be a bit warmer.
The children's entertainment was pretty good for such a small campsite.
Limited entertainment for the adults.
The shop had a very limited range but at 2km there is a proxy Delhaize so that is okay.

The places next to the main lane are not the quietest. Paintball on the other side of the course at the weekend. Is disturbing and if there is an event in the adjoining beverage facility then it is not that quiet anymore. So choose a place deeper on the site The owners are very friendly and super helpful. Stayed there in full corona time. No face masks because the people who stayed were "registered". MAW you can make or infect someone as long as you know who. Also cards had to be taken with them in the toilet, showers, sanitary facilities while everyone touches the cards just like that.
Also staff not really friendly. The left side of the site is quite marginal with a garbage dump at the end. Fortunately we went MTB all day and we were only at the campsite in the evening.

Nice cozy campsite. However, only gets three stars because we expect more for their price. The pool was ok, but not super. The playground basic. Sanitary ok. Animation was fun. Operators friendly and helpful. Location is great, very nice area for active people. Had their price been lower we would have given four stars

The campsite is right on the Vennbahn which is a big plus. The camping pitches are also sufficiently large, although you are quite close to each other. Everywhere is 10A electricity available which is also a plus. There is something to do at the bar almost every night (bingo, 1 vs 100, ...). The animation team is also busy for the children (although we had no children with us). The hosts are friendly and helpful.
We found the sanitary facilities less. Sometimes the doors of the toilets would not lock and usually with difficulty, toilet paper was regularly used up. The trash cans were often overcrowded. No hand soap provided.
The shower system is old-fashioned: insert 1 euro and you get 6 minutes of hot water. For what we paid it may be included in the price and if you still have to pay for a shower, we prefer a card system where you set up credit.
There were also 2 swimming pools that had also had their best time. The asphalt road on the campsite is also worn and has been supplemented with gravel here and there, so that you quickly get a cloud of dust when a car comes by.

Taking into account the important points for us: good sanitary facilities and tranquility on the campsite, we found the price to be on the high side.

I came to Oos Heem after three punctures on the Vennbahnweg. Apparently got on the wrong bike. But Ted the campsite manager and his team: Rita (his wife), Brian (her son) and Bianca (his wife) were a real consolation. Ted offered to use the workshop in the shed to make the bike ready for use again, for free. Brian (years of experience as a bicycle mechanic) came to help with this unsolicited, which cost him quite a few hours that he did not charge. Bianca served pizza, beer, ice cream and coffee in a comfortable place with free wifi. And to top it all off, I was able to drive back to Amsterdam in the van at Ted and Rita (at the wheel), incl. Bicycle and luggage. I have never hit it anywhere better. And then I have not yet mentioned the Vennbahnweg, the completely separate cycle path over the former railway track race, which passes by 2 minutes by bike from Oos Heem. Only the route on the ground is unpaved. And even though it is still so beautiful there, and although I have been taken care of so fantastically, it is better not to race with race tires on your wheels. But for those who want a warm welcome, Oos Heem remains an absolute must.

Great site, really friendly owners. Was there on my bike, good price at 10/night, including showers.
Nice bar, good beer and food looks good!
There is even a swimming pool.
Camping is in a meadow area, not very flay so you will have to be careful where you select to set up your tent.

On our tour on the Venenbahnradweg there was unfortunately not a single room in this area. Therefore, we spontaneously asked there: better it could not have come. Have gotten a developed trailer. Very clean and functional. The toilets were very clean. Therefore, I would stop here again.

We have been in a basic caravan.
Was 6 people, but we were four.

A dated caravan, but perfectly fine and certainly very important CLEAN.

A laundry rack was missing, but this was immediately brought by the employees.

Nothing but praise for this small but nice and very affordable campsite.

Beautiful campsite: spacious pitches, good and clean sanitary facilities, entertainment for young and old for those who want to participate. Well organized and super friendly. Corona measures were well foreseen and explained, but could be done a little better: distance, masks for staff

There is a swimming pool which is nice. If you want Wi-Fi you have to go to the restaurant otherwise it is not there. Charging is also not very well arranged because you have to hand in your phone at the reception to charge. Furthermore, there is not much to do for children over 9, there is a children's entertainment so that is fun for small children

Great site for cycle tourists as it is on the Vennbahn and close to Ligne 45a, Vennquerbahn, Kylltal-Radweg, Rheinland-Pfalz Radroute, RV4 and the Ahr-Radweg. Has all the essential amenities - sanitation is good, reception friendly, a bar/restaurant and entertainment for children. I have discovered some super campsites in Belgium and this is one of the best.
