Camp Yawgoog: A Scout Adventureland Forever
Founded in 1916 as βA Scout Adventureland Forever,β Camp Yawgoog is a premier summer camp located on 1800 acres of beautiful wilderness in Rockville, Rhode Island. The camp has been providing unforgettable experiences to young boys for over a century and continues to be one of the most sought-after summer camps in the country.
Yawgoog is divided into three separate camps: Three Point, Medicine Bow, and Sandy Beach. Each camp offers unique activities and programs that cater to different age groups and interests. From hiking and camping to swimming and boating, there is something for everyone at Camp Yawgoog.
The Three Point Camp is designed for younger scouts aged between 7-10 years old. It offers a variety of activities such as archery, arts & crafts, nature hikes, fishing trips, swimming lessons among others. The Medicine Bow Camp caters to older scouts aged between 11-14 years old who are looking for more challenging outdoor adventures such as rock climbing or kayaking.
Sandy Beach Camp provides an opportunity for older scouts aged between 15-17 years old who want to experience leadership roles while enjoying outdoor activities like sailing or water skiing. This camp also offers specialized programs like the National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) program which helps develop leadership skills among young adults.
Camp Yawgoog has an experienced staff that includes certified lifeguards, trained counselors with CPR certification among others who ensure that all participants have a safe and enjoyable experience during their stay at the camp.
