Cal Sailing Club

An amazing place to learn how to sail or windsurf, or to connect with a community if you are already skilled. There are beginner, intermediate and advanced lessons and programs, racing, cruising. And all for an unbeatable price. As it is a volunteer-run, non-profit, things are organized a little bit differently compared to a business. But it's the sort of places where you will make new friends and learn something new every time you go.

If you live anywhere near Berkeley, and have wanted to get out on the Bay this outfit makes it easy and cheap. All the gear is there at the water, ready to go, even the wetsuits. Very able people willing to teach for free.

You have no excuse. Do it.

This is a great place to learn how to sail or windsurf and make friends. There is a strong sense of community and a co-op feel. It's a volunteer-run organization but works remarkably well because the members are so committed to one another and the community. And, you can't beat the price!
