I expected support. I got dismissal, infantilization, and emotional harm. I came into therapy needing respect, understanding, and real help. Instead, I was treated like a misbehaving toddler. One of my assigned goals involved a social story that was clearly written for 3-year-olds—I'm a lot older than that, and the material felt insulting and irrelevant.

When I expressed that something wasn’t helping, I was met with “uh huh” responses and no meaningful change. On a particularly bad day, my RBT took my computer away without permission, walked out the door with it, and discussed steps to ground me. Not comfort me. Not talk to me. Punish me.

That’s not therapy. That’s control dressed up as care. When I voiced distress, I was ignored. When I said the approach wasn’t helping, I was shut down. This experience left me feeling unheard, disrespected, and worse off than before.

If you're looking for therapeutic support that respects your age, your voice, and your emotional complexity—this isn’t it. I hope this company reflects hard on its actions and rethinks how it handles moments that require empathy, not authority.
