A warm and welcoming place supported by a great
with kind caring people. When I got here the cafe was closed (hrs 11-2). Didn't have a chance to try the food but will definitely return to do so. The ambiance is beautiful. A surprise locational for a celebration venue. If you wanna tip your cowboy hat, this would be a great venue to buy one with greats like the Bushes, Robert Duvall, JFK, LBJ, and John Wayne having their hats steamed here. If you wanna see a part of Texas Soul...this is a good place to start .

Amazing food and service from amazing people. The staff and the residents who work with them are both such exceptional people! Really, the moment you walk-in and meet any one of them, it's like talking to a good friend you haven't seen in a long time. It goes without further saying that the service is top-notch, and also a little surprisingly, it's incredibly high class as well.

The food is similarly up there in quality, it's picture perfect. This is one of the finest dining experiences I've ever had, minus the uptight atmosphere usually found at expensive places. I would definitely like to go back.

What an amazing place, doing incredible work. The diner and gift shop are amazing. Still what they do behind the scenes is more incredible. Thanks to the staff, volunteers and most importantly the residents for making this place so special. The See TIM Sell team has been honored to be here for many events and we have been blown away each time. By the way you have to see the Bell Choir. I saw them do Yesterday (by Paul McCartney). Took my breath away. Book them for your events, they are incredible.

A very nice Family friendly place to visit . Good selection of gifts to choose from. Their cafe offers freshly prepared food. It's best to call in advance for reservation so you are assured of having seats because it is a bit of a drive to the west of Houston .Most of all, I appreciate their mission to equip and train disadvantaged people to be productive and self-reliant.

Great concept for the adults with functional disabilities! Great group of kids that work throughout the organization! However the feeble leaders, in particular the directors of this organization are absolutely abhorrent, slothful and inattentive in the day to day operations of this wonderful organization. Please make no mistake about it, the organization is great because of the people you see every day and not because of the behind the scene gutless directors. If you volunteer, contribute to or participate with the leaders of this organization please ask for accountability of your resources.

I will go out of my way to bring people to this gorgeous place. In addition to the cafe (worth it on its own) there's a beautiful garden area and greenhouse, and a large store, with a huge variety of items, from homewares and decorative items made by the Brookwood residents, to hats and clothing, to garden items and gourmet food, and more. I've eaten in the cafe many times and enjoyed it each time, but one visit should be singled out for special mention. I arrived about half an hour before closing, having not checked the hours, with guests from out of town. Even though the kitchen had closed, the staff went out of their way to find us a place to sit, and help us find items on the menu that we could still order. The welcoming and relaxing atmosphere never fails here. Love it!

For those struggling to find somewhere that will care for their special needs loved ones with love and compassion, Brookwood Community is the place. I was blessed to work here during my nursing school rotation and it was amazing to see how happy the residents and day citizens are

We just celebrated our daughter's wedding over there. We were delighted with the service. The place is just beautiful and the food is delicious. Katie and Jessica - the hosts - were very accommodating to all our needs and really professional. Also, we contacted them abut a million times :) before the event and always responded ASAP to our cares and concerns.Thank you so much for being so patient with us. We will definitely recommend this place to our friends

I have been coming here for 10 years and the food has always been great. It would cost 3 times as much if these menu items were served at a similar venue in downtown Houston. Well worth the drive. Don't forget to take a walk around the grounds and see the nursery and gift shop. The value and selection in the nursery are outstanding. Note: only open for lunch, no dinner, 7 days a week. All proceeds including tips go towards the group home for developmently disabled adults.

Great little community doing God's work. This community that was built to take care of special-needs people is a real blessing. This work that they provide gives the folks there purpose. The activities that keep the residents active are pretty well structured. The folks coming here to volunteer on the weekends really get to connect with the community residents and get a different perspective in life.

Doing things here (in my experience) has been repetitious... the same thing, over and over... although this is like a job (doing the same thing over and over) some of those who have had head injuries really look down on just doing the same thing with no bits of change.

Our JOY (Just Older Youth) group from Kingwood enjoyed a wonderful tour led by Luke today, December 8. He shared the history, the staff's desire to meet the individual needs of each Citizen, and programs to utilize their skills. We were greeted by and interacted with the artists. The community truly provides an atmosphere of God's love. We enjoyed very good food in The Cafe, served by Citizens. The gift store offers many wonderful gift items, many of which are made by the Citizens, and the floral center has a beautiful display of seasonal plants.

Take time to visit Brookwood Community! You will be blessed.
