Bonnie Brae: Providing Comprehensive Care for Youth in Crisis

Bonnie Brae is a non-profit organization that has been providing comprehensive care for youth and families in crisis throughout New Jersey since 1916. The organization was founded by Judge Harry Osborne, who saw the need to provide a safe place for young men who were caught up in the juvenile justice system. Today, Bonnie Brae serves both young men and women between the ages of 12 and 21 who are struggling with a variety of challenges.

At Bonnie Brae, we believe that every child deserves a chance to succeed. We provide a safe and supportive environment where youth can heal from trauma, build positive relationships, and develop the skills they need to thrive. Our programs are designed to meet the unique needs of each individual we serve, whether they are struggling with mental health issues, substance abuse problems, or other challenges.

One of our core values at Bonnie Brae is family involvement. We recognize that families play an essential role in supporting their children's growth and development. That's why we work closely with families throughout their child's stay at Bonnie Brae to ensure that they have the resources they need to support their child's success.

Our programs include residential treatment services, outpatient counseling services, educational support services, vocational training programs, and more. We also offer specialized programming for LGBTQ+ youth as well as those involved in the juvenile justice system.

At Bonnie Brae, we believe that education is key to breaking cycles of poverty and trauma. That's why we offer on-site education services through our accredited school program. Our teachers work closely with students to help them catch up on missed coursework or earn credits towards graduation.

We also recognize that many of our youth face significant barriers when it comes to finding employment after leaving our program. That's why we offer vocational training programs designed to help them develop job skills and gain real-world experience through internships and apprenticeships.

Our team at Bonnie Brae includes licensed therapists, social workers, educators, nurses, and other professionals who are dedicated to helping youth overcome their challenges. We take an evidence-based approachto treatmentand use research-backed interventions such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT),and trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT).
