I upgraded my CR-10 Mini with the Bondtech DDX v3 system, and the print quality has been consistently excellent. It is a significant step up from the stock setup, particularly for continuous nylon printing, as I no longer deal with PTFE shrinking away from the nozzle. However, the included boron nitride paste could be improved; it dries out fast and can crumble during assembly, making precise installation a bit tricky until you get the hang of it. Thermal stability is solid, maintaining consistent temperatures even with part cooling at maximum, though I would have liked to see a compatible silicone sock for those running lower temperatures. I personally found the Copperhead hot block to be less critical than the heat break, as I achieve great results at temperatures below 260°C. The heat break is truly the standout feature here—it handles the load and, paired with a direct drive kit, transforms the printing experience. Installing the thermistor via the adapter was a bit of a challenge, requiring careful placement of wires and paste, but it works. The brass nozzles (0.4mm and 0.6mm) are machined to spec and perform as well as any others I have used. I am very satisfied with the performance of Bondtech and Slice’s engineering, giving the Copperhead heat break five stars and a 4-star rating for the complete kit.

Hard to find fault with this upgrade. The build quality is excellent, and the dual drive mechanism truly delivers on its promise. I managed to reuse my existing DDS-to-DDX cable by making minor adjustments: slightly trimming the black insulation to expose more wire and swapping the motor phase connections to ensure correct rotation. Printing has been reliable, though I did have to tweak the Marlin firmware settings to prevent the heater from triggering a thermal error due to the 5015 fan cooling the MOSFET too much. That should be easily fixed with a MOSFET sock later on. Overall, Bondtech has delivered a lightweight, high-performance product that works exactly as intended.

Switching my i3 clone from a standard Bowden setup to the Prusa i3 MK2/MK2s upgrade was a fantastic decision. The Bondtech dual drive system makes a huge difference: layers are perfectly even, and extrusion is completely reliable. While loading and unloading filament requires a bit more effort and some Marlin firmware tweaking to set up the menu options, it’s a small price to pay for the performance boost. I can’t compare it directly to the original Prusa stock extruder since mine isn’t a genuine Prusa printer, but having used a second Bondtech extruder now, I’m consistently impressed. No disappointments so far!

If you’re running a Prusa MK3, the Bondtech dual drive extruder is an absolute game-changer. My original extruder was overheating constantly, which led to filament melting and blobbing that ruined my prints. After switching to Bondtech’s pancake extruder, the temperature issue vanished, and the print quality improved drastically. It’s genuinely the best modification I’ve made to my printer.

Hands down the best extruder I’ve ever used. While I initially converted to the Bondtech QR, the BMG has completely won me over. It offers that same powerful, consistent extrusion without marring the filament, but in a much more compact package. Paired with a pancake stepper, it’s an absolute dream for direct drive setups on large delta printers. I’ve recommended it to countless fellow 3D printing enthusiasts. Bondtech has created a product that is incredibly reliable, highly capable, and genuinely beautiful to look at.

Bondtech has nailed it with this dual drive extruder for the Ultimaker 2. It’s a straightforward swap that lets you ditch the stock feeder without much hassle. The unit arrives mostly pre-assembled, so you just need to swap the old part, attach the new mount, and bolt it in. While the setup is generally intuitive, they also offer clear illustrated guides online if you need a refresher. The build quality is outstanding; everything fits perfectly into the UM2 frame and feels robust. You will need to update the firmware due to the new gear ratio, but Bondtech makes this easy by providing pre-configured files or detailed settings for those who want to customize it ourselves. We had zero issues using their settings on TinkerGnome. The difference in printing is instant—no more filament grinding, and it finally handles flexible materials that the original feeder struggled with. A clever design feature allows for easy filament insertion or removal by hand with a simple thumbscrew. Absolutely worth the investment.
