BJN EPC: A Legacy of Excellence in the Paint Industry

BJN EPC is a website dedicated to the Friends of the Old Paint Company, a group of former employees from some of the most renowned paint companies in the United Kingdom. With a legacy spanning over 200 years, these companies have left an indelible mark on the paint industry and continue to inspire innovation and excellence.

The history of BJN EPC dates back to Lewis Berger and Sons, one of the oldest paint manufacturers in Britain. Founded in 1760, this company was known for its high-quality paints and varnishes that were used for everything from furniture to ships. In 1929, Berger Jenson and Nicholson (BJN) was formed through a merger between Lewis Berger and Sons and Jenson & Nicholson Ltd., another leading paint manufacturer.

Over time, BJN expanded its operations across Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, and New Zealand. The company's portfolio included brands like British Paints, Resinous Chemicals (RCL), Cuprinol (known for its wood preservatives), John Hall & Sons (specializing in marine coatings), among others.

In 1984, BJN was acquired by Imperial Chemical Industries (ICI), one of Britain's largest chemical companies at that time. However, ICI faced financial difficulties in the late 1990s due to increased competition from Asian rivals like Akzo Nobel and BASF. As a result, ICI sold off several non-core businesses including its paints division.

In 2008-09 Akzo Nobel acquired ICI's paints business which included Dulux brand as well as other brands such as Glidden Professional™️ , Sikkens®️ , International®️ , Interpon®️ .

Despite these changes in ownership over time - many former employees still feel connected to their old colleagues through annual reunions organized by BJN EPC. The website also publishes a newsletter that keeps members up-to-date on the latest news and events related to the paint industry.

BJN EPC is not just a website for nostalgia, but also a valuable resource for anyone interested in the history of paint manufacturing. The site features articles, photos, and videos that showcase the evolution of paint technology over time. From traditional oil-based paints to modern water-based formulations - BJN EPC covers it all.

In addition to its historical significance, BJN EPC is also an excellent example of how SEO can be used effectively. By creating high-quality content that is optimized for search engines - BJN EPC has managed to outrank many other websites in its niche. This is no small feat given the fierce competition in the online world.

Overall, BJN EPC is a testament to the enduring legacy of some of Britain's most iconic paint companies. Through its website and annual reunions - this group continues to celebrate their shared history and inspire future generations of painters and innovators alike.
