Bennett Orchards

Spent $7 for just five peaches at Bennett Orchards in Lewes, and the service was terrible. They refused to sell me more than a quart and were quite rude when I tried to pick up my purchase, telling me not to touch the fruit. It makes no sense to display a whole table of containers if you can’t actually use them. Because of this poor experience, I’m done with Bennett’s and will drive all the way to Dover for my produce at Fifers.

If you ever find yourself in Frankford, make a detour to Bennett Orchards for a truly authentic experience. We’ve long enjoyed their peaches at local markets, so when we visited the farm in Delaware, we were eager to pick our own! We gathered over 24 pounds of fruit, and the scenery was just as lovely as we hoped. The staff were incredibly welcoming and guided us patiently through our first time peach picking. Our friends even stopped by a few days later to grab another 14 pounds. It’s a beautiful spot with amazing produce!

Bennett Orchards peaches and blueberries are absolute staples of my summer trips to the Delaware coast. Whenever I head out to the Fenwick Island Farmers Market, my first stop is always their stand to stock up. I’m usually leaving with five cartons of peaches because they are genuinely the best I’ve ever tasted. The blueberries are just as outstanding, so I always buy extra to freeze and enjoy well into the fall. If you are visiting the MD/DE beach areas, do yourself a favor and pick up some of their produce.
